I mugged off my friend who is retarded (with assburgers disease and epilepsy) and got the 7900 XTX by trading him my RTX4070. I felt like I got scammed so I sold it, bought a 4070 Super when they released with change to spare to get games. In the end, I was just as retarded as him.

Not sure if this is what the release notes are saying. This was from May.
"v4 (5/2/25): updated vkd3d-proton -> fp8 and fp16 builds are now combined. Use DXIL_SPIRV_CONFIG=wmma_fp8_hack to enable fp8. RDNA3 now renders completely correctly using DXIL_SPIRV_CONFIG=wmma_rdna3_workaround."

Doubt it would be very beneficial even if true without the dedicated ML components.
From what I understand proton-ge enabled experimental FSR4 support by selecting FSR3 in games. You still need a RDNA4 card though.

I read about someone getting it to run but the performance was awful. This was on the cachyOS Reddit where they're a little head of the curve.

No idea if this actually works, but I'm pretty sure the plan was always to eventually get FSR4 or at least some FSR4 features on other cards.
