The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Sorry about that, Chief.... :(

This show is older than a good portion of you I'm sure...

Just about to post something like this... Get Smart was my favorite show as a little kid (reruns on Nick at Nite)... RIP you will be missed :(

Too bad.

I also really like the show. Had he done anything else notable? And are there DVDs of Get Smart available?

Just read that on CNN, and was thinking of posting a topic. Didn't know he was at Guadacanal in WW2.

Rule of 3???? Hope Leslie Neilson's feeling ok :(

well I for one watched it and Gadget obsessively on Nickelodeon. Therefore I will sob now.

I watched Get Smart a *lot* as a kid on Nick at Nite.

:(.

Bob Denver, Don Adams, Jerry Orbach. :(

yeah i was pissed when they stopped showing it. They need to bring it back on TV Land or Nick at Nite. or at least have some kind of marathon to tribute to him, like they did with Three's Company when John Ritter died.

I remember me and my brother watch Get Smart everyday after he came home from work, it was the only show he liked so I always remember it fondly. I also loved Inspector Gadget as a kid.

I'll miss you Don RIP.

The Get Smart DVDs are supposed to come out sometime next year, along-side the Get Smart movie. (It better have a "In Memory of Don Adams" at the end..!) I think I read HBO was releasing them?

Same here, though I also saw some episodes when it was still on the regular networks (probably when I was 4 or 5).

Wow, that sucks. I loved Get Smart as a kid. And it never even occurred to me that he voiced Inspector Gadget, heh.

Get Smart was a blast. Loved catching the reruns as a kid.

And no disrespect, but Inspector Gadget got really old really fast. As a child, I recall despising it.

Dr. Claw won :(

I always used to stay up past my bedtime with my sister to watch episodes of Get Smart. And I always used to watch Inspector Gadget every day after school.

R.I.P. Don. :(

Missed me....by that much!

Get Smart was great, i spent many an afternoon after primary school watching it. Its great how a show can be good enough that it will influence multiple generations.

I always fantasized about someone de-aging Don Adams somehow and getting him to play Gadget in the movie, not fucking Matthew Brodrick. God the movie was a trainwreck.

Very sad news though. Get Smart and Inspector Gadget was a big part of my childhood.

DAmn!

Get Smart was a great show and a big part of my childhood. I would kill for Dvds of it.

"missed if by thaaaaaaaaaat much"

The shoe phone and the cone of silence were also classic.

RIP Don.

[Max suddenly shoots a window washer]
Agent 99: Max, what did you do?
Maxwell Smart: Just eliminated a Kaos agent.
Agent 99: Well, how could you be sure?
Maxwell Smart: Because, 99, my eagle eye picked out a few things that the ordinary person might not see. First of all, his sponge was absolutely filthy. Second, he was using horizontal strokes instead of vertical strokes. And finally, he was holding his squeegee with an overlapping lacrosse grip.
Agent 99: Besides, it's raining, and window washers don't work in the rain.
Maxwell Smart: I wasn't finished, 99.
Agent 99: Sorry, Max.
Maxwell Smart: Besides, it's raining, and window washers don't work in the rain.
Agent 99: Good thinking, Max.

Im in the pool of people who watched him as a kid from reruns yet still totally loved the show. I actually have Get Smart on my tivo as one of my wishlist items. Such a funny man. I hope tv land does run a marathon or something in his honor.

Count me among the many who loved watching Get Smart on Nick At Nite as a kid. I even had my parents buy me the shoe phone that they sold. Don Adams will be missed.

It really is awesome how many of us watched him on reruns as a kid. Just goes to show you how great that show, and how great he was!
