Playstation 3 scener sleirsgoevy has released a Doom port to Blu-Ray Java (Cibyl MIPS-to-Java) using the PS3 BD-J SDK.

Playstation 3 is the target of this port. I dont know if it works -at all- in any other Blu-Ray player (most of them should support the Blu-Ray Java standard).

I have tried it in my Playstation 3 Super Slim and it runs surprisingly fine, considering the limitations. There are no buttons for strafe and you cant push two d-pad buttons at the same time, so you must use R1 to run if you want to turn at the same time. There is no sound ATM since Doom Shareware license only allow to distribute the unmodified files, in order to get sound from a BD those files must be converted to M2TS.

Pre-Compiled Files with Shareware version (you can burn them or make an iso with them using ImgBurn, for example).

What is blu-ray java? The same like a movie menu ?
Way more complex than that. It is the equivalent to those JavaME games for early-mid 00s phones.

The technology used to create Blu-Play games has been around since 2003. It's called Blu-ray Disc Java, often referred to as JavaME BD-J. All Blu-ray players run BD-J as part of the Blu-ray specification, which in turn means that PS3, PS4 and XB1 all run Java games simply because they all feature a Blu-ray player. The whole idea with BD-J was exactly to offer games (among other things) on Blu-ray players.

The most complex native DVD/BR game i've ever seen was Syberia DVD-i, and it was pretty much a slideshow of scenes. This allows a full-featured Doom.
