Avatarized the hero icons if anyone wants

Stormspirit looks like he has two little arms and legs lol.

bloodseeker is so fun to play.

really easy to last hit with, since you basically can't be harassed, and once you hit level 6 you are a god :)

Also didn't hurt that the other team had an aggressively pushing prophet who kept feeding me armies of treants

He seems really wide open with build options too, and can be built fairly cheaply compared to most carries. I went treads crit butterfly and was basically unstoppable. I think phase boots might be better than treads cause I didn't really have any issues sustaining myself in lane early game and even better chase can never be a bad thing, right?

I finished vanguard late just because I had boatloads of cash and the stout shield was already in my inventory from my starting items, but I think BKB is the better final item, as basically the only way to stop a bloodseeker at that point in the game is by disabling him.

this is without even mentioning the gimmicky force staff builds, which I don't like. He scales so well with damage and AS that it's a waste to build so situationally around his ult. :P

Yeah, I don't get why people do that. The damage isn't great and it's countered as easily as your target pointing themselves in the direction most likely to save their life (at a cliff, for instance).

You have to be careful when casting Bloodrage on an enemy, have had a few times that a Bloodseaker puts the dot on me, and then simply use the damage boost to kill one of his allies in a team fight that should have been able to get away. You don't expect Dazzle to be hitting for 200 each auto attack.

So I finally got an invite to this game but now I'm, like, afraid to play it. Are there any GAFfers who are willing to play with a complete noob to show the ropes? Steam name is Spoogeist (I'm a part of the Dota 2 group but I don't know anyone lol)

I honestly don't care whether I win or lose anymore. If you ever feel like playing with someone, just message me.

I can babysit you once you start playing carries and whatnot.

I'm just sayin' the truth. If you got a problem with the truth, well, hey that's on you.

Actually the truth so far resulted with only one name and that was nob, you follow me.

Regardless of the context, I find racial slurs completely unacceptable. If that's the way you guys talk on Mumble, I'm definitely going to stay away.

Hearsay by people that have been wrong and just making shit up. We also have such a multicultural group too so I don't get this racial slur business.

If you been following this tread when people have been put on the spot they've just ignored the post and then come back later on to spout the same shit, bunch of haterbots.

The side lane shops have a limited stock of items. Here is a list of them:
http://www.dota2wiki.com/wiki/Side_Shop

If you are buying those things, make sure you are close enough to the shop.

Yeah i figured that out after i posted. I was derp derping. I didn't realize that there were 3 different stores and they all had different items.

I finally had a game that didn't DC finally. I see myself playing this game frequently for fun, but never getting competitive due to the fact that you rely on your teammates so heavily...and i have no friends that would play this. Its different in something like WoW's Battlegrounds. You're a little bit more anonymous and your teammates don't rely so heavily on you. But in Dota everyone has to pull their own weight and if they don't, its just frustrating and not fun.

So far my random picks has been going great. Just played Night Stalker and got heavily ganked, but it was so much fun to run so fast across the screen.

I have 35 more heroes to go, but I wish hitting random would pick heroes you haven't played ;_;

I think I've randomed Wind Runner 4 times already. She's fun, but I need someone else too!

I have been randoming a bunch, with pretty good results. I ether have a huge lucky streak, or I simply suck less then the enemy and don't do thing as dumb as them. Likely just pure luck.

Hahah, I wish I was getting more lucky. Sometimes I feel really bad for my team since I get stuck with difficult characters, but you know, they were once new and pissing people off too :P

So far 39 matches I've randomed. I want to stop when every single hero has been added.

Yeah I just randomed kunkka and was awful, couldn't hit anything at all.. Felt sorry for my team, but our comp was pretty terrible anyway, so probably would've lost anyway.

I think kunkka is the hero with the hardest spells to land in the game. None of his shit is easy to use well.

Don't feel bad for a moment when you random something bad, people even pick dumb shit all the time so they better deal with it. Doesn't seem to matter if you random asap as the draft begins, no one picks their heroes for team play. I've stopped caring about this so-called teamplay, had 4 carries in my team already and I randomed Lina.

Dignitas vs NaVi, NaVi picked Invoker so Dendi might play him: http://www.own3d.tv/live/10588/joinDOTA_with_Tobi_Wan

Hah, Sniper in pro play. Dignitas is so done with that in their lineup.

I felt the same way at first, so I just stuck to support heroes and stayed close to someone better. After I got more comfortable with the game I started picking more roles. And now if I want to try a new hero I just play a random and go for it, since it doesn't matter that much if we win or lose at this level, and all stats are probably going to be wiped anyway once the game goes live.

Apparantly not!

Missed the beginning so I don't get to see how Na'Vi can be down 14-5.

But it's freshening to see new heroes seeing play ; just in this game we have Invoker, Sniper, Puck and Enchantress seeing play.

Most likely a collateral result of a team having picked Invoker. Eh.

Enchantress and Puck are played semi actively even in the pro scene, Sniper never and Invoker has been banned a lot before this. I consider Sniper a joke hero with little to bring to the game after a while. Seems to work just fine against 3/5 Navi though.

Yep, done with the game. Crushed Navi hard and fast, before they could pick up steam in the late game. Fun match to watch, glad I took the time to watch it. Glad the team I was rooting for won (Due to Na'vi's Record, I usually like to root for the non-Na'vi side)

Started with a 5v5 before the horn Navi got FB but lost 2 in return, Sniper/AA lane with Chen coming from the Jungle shut down slarder/VS Lane including a couple of kills. Invoker and Ench managed to push a couple of towers and kill puck. Dignitas got a tower(or 2?) back and a couple more kills (storm and maybe VS again?). Navi pushed through to teir 2 mid but got lost a teamfight 1 - 3(4?) because of puck blink silence ulti. Was all downhill for Navi from there.

Excellent play from Mouz. Pleasantly surprised.

edit: Surprised is probably not the right word, as they've been very good for a while now, but it's always nice to see them do well.

Welp, I finally managed to get in DOTA 2, so now I gotta figure out what to do (frankly, I've never played DOTA or any variation of it).

Should be fun to play around with until I get the hang of things.

One person saying something you kind of remember once hardly constitutes the character of our mumble.

Oh, no, of course not! In general I find the Mumble to be pretty friendly and I like sitting in there when I'm playing in-houses. While there is a general air of arrogance from a lot of people in this thread (you included), when we're actually playing, it's never really been a problem for me. Except when HyunA blew up at me because I don't know how to play Sand King (despite me making it very clear that I don't know how to play Sand King).

But it still happens on occasion. That's all I'm saying.
