DOWNLOAD "Meteos" demo

This game makes no sense to me. I lined up colors, groups of blocks shot up and then drifted back down, i got solid grays and chromocolored blocks. Just what?

I was expecting more. Or something different at least. Way too easy for a puzzler. Then again, I don't understand what the hell the point is other than to get rid of the gray rectangles.

Interesting gameplay, but I'm wondering... is the normal game this fast? If it is it could prove to be pretty interesting.

Haven't played the demo yet, but from what i understand, it sounds like you didn't line up enough colors. The more blocks you try to send back in to space at one time, the more colors you're supposed to line up. You can try sending up a smaller group of blocks maybe.

I would hope it gradually speeds up. Moved too slow for me.

Hmm, that makes sense. Works like Pokemon Puzzle League or Tetris Attack (I think that was the one PPL ripped off).

No way, that is well broken.
For starters, IIRC, the blocks only form a missile and launch if you line up 3 horizontally. Vertical doesn't count. Also, you can arrange the blocks in mid-air to increase the boost of the rocket if the payload is too heavy (when it comes back down). Finally, there's no way the last row of blocks (the boosters themselves) would actually fall back down without the payload. Did I say finally? I lied... it's way too slow at the beginning. I think the real game may start with blocks already on the ground.

Yeah, various movies of Meteos in action show that there are several rows of blocks already on the stage before more begin to fall.

If you're having trouble getting a group to clear to the top, as its falling you can try sending a smaller group of blocks directly up below it (ex: 3 vertical of the same color). This second group will connect with the first group and should give it momentum to clear the top.

Awesome. Bit easy though :(

EDIT: reads what johnnyram posted. Dammit, why dont we have a demo of that?

Hahahahahahaha sounds broken indeed. Oh well. :D

You can line up blocks vertically in the demo that I downloaded at the World Hobby Fair. Three like blocks lined of vertically sends a column flying up.

Damn, now that I've figured out how to do things a bit better... I kept getting caught off-guard by how many blocks were limited for the top. Not any more though O_-

I'm at 503K now and uh, yeah, these things really do need to fall more quickly as time progresses or something.

Oh ok :) Maybe they changed it or maybe I just never noticed it originally. Still, it's like saying Bejeweled is the same as Zoo Keeper - there's a big presentation difference :D It's a good attempt, for sure, but there's a couple of teeny bugs here and there, like when you change a block as it is falling down, it makes a horizontal row, but one of them changes back into the old colour after the other two change into thruster blocks...

Ok let's be honest here. Bejeweled IS the same as Zoo Keeper. It's pretty much 100% identical, and if that's not enough, there's a flash version of Zoo Keeper TOO! :lol

Technically, it's a flash version of Zooo. :P

Bah this is nothing like meteos.

In the real game (the demo is still on my DS) you can:

Toss blocks up to the stack floating down.. yes, like throwing them.
drag much faster with the stylus.

The game is also much more frantic. This is slow and way too easy.

I think everyone will be very surprised with how good meteos is. It uses the stylus better than any game on the ds so far.

196,453 was my highest score, after two games trying to figure out wtf you were actually supposed to do.

Fun little game, if not a bit simple. It's good to hear the real game is significantly more challenging.

the game also reacts to how well you are doing...

if you clear an area of the screen, the drop speed will pick up dramatically and then slow back down.

blocks have different propulsion characteristics as well.... not to mention that the single and multiplayer game will have different "races" with different capabilities. This isnt in the demo though.
