s promised, today's Genkidamatsuri featured the reveal of a new game project. That game turned out to be Dragon Ball Project: Age 1000, a mysterious project that Akira Toriyama was deeply involved with before his passing. The trailer featured a new character designed by Toriyama who can turn into a Super Saiyan and seems to have some sort of relationship with Goku.

The project has been in the works for quite some time now, but Bandai was reluctant to tell us too much more about it for now. The title "Age 1000" seems to suggest that it's going to take place in the far future, which is a very interesting setting for a Dragon Ball game. Toriyama didn't just design the main character, either, as he worked on multiple others as well.

In case anyone is curious of the timeline, Goku is born Year 734 and disappears at the end of GT in year 790. This would be 210 years after that moment (if that's what the game's premise is implying).

hopefully not gacha games,
i think based on the "virtual" style vfx (square-ish vfx when enemy is hit), could be digitize version of the past, could be DNA themed or data hacking virtual world or something similar

After all these years. We're finally going past EoZ. from Toriyama himself, but its in game form. lmaolol

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt until we see more.

The Xenoverse games were a refreshing change of pace, especially when it came to executing a new story in a good way, with new original cutscenes no less.

Only decent thing coming from the event was Galactic Patrol, which will cover the Moro Arc.

This and the Berus remake...

Does this have any connection to Dragon Ball Online (Which was also set in the year 1000)/Xenoverse or is this a separate timeline?

That would be a weird take considering Goku in that particular timeline is technically not mortal. He ascended and thus is watching over his descendants. What figure appeared in front of the MC towards the end? That looked like saiyan armor.

Plus if they're honoring Akira Toriyama. Why the bloody hell would they go with a GT timeline?

That's why I used the term 'disappear' and not 'dead'.

Based on the orange pant, blue boot, and hairstyle, figure appears to be Goku, but in the video it is implied that the MC 'borrows' Goku's power, which speaks to some sort of future Capsule Corp tech that can imitate or download historical figure data. The enemies he fights are also digital.
