if you like original dragonball z with filler out the ass then yeah its better.Kagari said:Dragon Box is better <_<
you ain't hardcore bro. I own all the original individual DVDs except the saiyaman arc which I have on VHS. :loljambo said:Collection complete

Yeah but I don't like to break the viewing experience by fast forwarding every few minutes.Kagari said:Some of the filler episodes were goodBut there's a reason they invented the fast forward button.
13 per setShadowlink said:Getting the Kai bluerays for now would probably be the best choice for now. I'll probably get the boxes some time next year. How many episodes do each blueray include?
Sounds good. Bought! I'll get those boxes next year.Pein said:13 per set
Like Kagari said, there are some fillers that are pretty good that I wouldn't mind watching again, and that is why I'll probably end up getting the DBZ boxes sometime.Calcaneus said:Unless you already love Z to death, its pretty obselete for new fans. Kai has significantly less filler and a much better dub. I'm sticking with the Dragon boxes basically because I want the entire show intact, but I think most people won't miss all the fat.
I do wish the boxes had the dub soundtrack on it though, then it would be perfect. Not that I'm in love it, but I feel like I'm missing something. The English track with the original score feels like a waste, because I don't think the majority of fans are really interested in that, dub fans or fans of the original. Personally, I just want it for comparison's sake.
Nnothing seems to be different besides some of the voices, and music. If Kai looked like the intros, then it would have been awesome.Kagari said:I would have supported Kai if the animation were completely redone, or at least the episodes with crap animation redone.
Honestly if that doesn't happen after kai is milked dry I'd be shocked. The cash cow that is dragonball won't end after kai, it'll be redrawn and after that I bet a new show in all cg.Kagari said:I would have supported Kai if the animation were completely redone, or at least the episodes with crap animation redone.
Takao said:Toriko will be replacing DragonBall Kai in April on FujiTV. At that point, Kai will have likely have reached the end of the Cell storyline.
Dun Dun Dun...
Someone's going to say "Toei's finally doing what Toriyama didn't, and ending it at Cell!", aren't they?

I don't mind filler when you can skip it (i.e. filler episodes), but my problem with Dragonball filler is that a lot of the filling material is Vegeta standing there with mouth agape at something the opponent just did.Kagari said:Some of the filler episodes were goodBut there's a reason they invented the fast forward button.

um.... toriyama came up with the premise for GT.Takao said:He probably sees it the same way he sees Evolution, as another person's take on Dragon Ball.

agreed. Kai would be, like, the definitive version of DBZ, including the manga chapters, in that case, hahaKagari said:If they decide not to do the Buu saga... that would be the most amazing thing.
