Well, since English is not your first language, I'll explain. On the internet, your writing skills determine how seriously people take you. Stereotypically, it's idiot 15 year olds or lazy/uneducated people who use "u" or other made up contractions.

So, if you want people to give any credibility to what you say, take that extra 10 seconds to doublecheck your spelling and grammar. Just hammering out badly-spelled replies as much as possible doesn't make anyone listen, it just makes them tune you out.

But the way FUNi pronounces it (SAY IN) is completely wrong. And considering I (and many others) haven't watched the English dub of Z in years, it's kinda hard to go back.

It's not even redone in HD. It's remastered in HD (ala tracing, upscaling etc. it's not reanimated). Filler material has been cut (the episode count has been cut in half), new music and new voices (for both the Japanese version and dub).

It is DBZ remastered in HD (not redrawn or reanimated) with completely redone audio, and edited to more closely resemble the manga in pacing and content.

In other words, all the filler is gone, and the series follows the manga pacing.

4-5 episodes of Gohan encountering injured dinosaur friends, an orphanage, and a buried robot? Gone

Bulma+Krillin+Gohan encountering a cloaked alien spacecraft and a fake namek on their way to namek? Gone

Garlic Jr Saga? Gone.

The filler is gone, and scenes are less drawn out than they were made for in DBZ. Everything goes much more smoothly.



Fun fact: episode 71 of Kai, which is where Goku fully recovers/reawakens from his heart virus, corresponds roughly to episode 146 of DBZ

they're on the cell stuff. I mentioned ep 71 to you, which has alerady aired.

Goku vs. Frieza is still roughly 10 episodes ( Ep 42 is Vegeta's death, while ep 52 ends with goku blasting Frieza after giving him some of his own energy, so you could say the fight is eps 43-52). But it's no surprise that it is that long because it was quite long in the manga too, as the dragon ball saga was SUPPOSED to end after Frieza.

Goku has fulfilled the legend of his people and has freed the universe from the tyrannical rule of Frieza, becoming the strongest in the universe.

Fans: MOAR.
Toei+Shueisha: MOAR

Toriyama: here's the android + cel sagass.. Goku passes the torch to gohan.

Fans: MOAR! WE WANT GOKU!
Toei+Shueisha: MOAR! AND YOU HEARD THEM! GIVE THEM GOKU!

Toriyama: Here's the Buu Saga

Fans: MOAR!

Toriyama: Fuck you.

The Cell arc was fine, some minor holes in there, the buu saga was his "I am going throw shit on paper and get payed millions'' saga.
 
Series should have ended when Vegeta blasted Cell to the land of misfit villains or when he sent Boo to candy land. But noooo, the Goku wanking had to continue.

Goku was pretty tame during the cell arc, he had a fight against 19 and a fight against Perfect Cell, Picoolo had the same amount of fights, it really didn't become Goku and friends until buu.

What's worse is that, when you look at it from the perspective of characters in the DB Universe, it was completely pointless: Goku could have beat Buu anytime he wanted in his Fat Buu/ Kid Buu form. The Buu saga was goku dicking around with the fate of the universe because he either didn't think it was his "place" to do anything, or because he wanted to let Vegeta have a shot at Buu.

So fucking stupid.

Should have ended with Cell. Even though Vegeta should have got the job done, I take solace in knowing that Gohan would have failed like Krillin if hadn't been for Vegeta's gotcha bitch.

it seems I have reverted back to my middle school days :P

Also, he wanted two 5 year olds! Who somehow turned Super Sayain (for no reason mind you) to beat and big pink blob,and walking plothole buu. The only thing he did right was Goku v Vegeta again but that was so short and pointless.

Plus me and my friends like to have spopovich fights in DBZB3 while yelling his name.
 
Toriyama was definitely forced to make the Buu saga by Jump and his editors. There is no reason at all why the story should have went longer than the Cell saga. Goku is dead, and Gohan has taken his place, as the character he was hinted to becoming since the first episode of DBZ.

Buu saga completely takes a shit on the Gohan character. Unbelievable.
 
As a Gohan fanboy I would have been quite happy with it ending at Cell. :)

Was thinking of getting the first Kai set to see what its like, anyone commented on how the BluRay releases are? Any better/different than regular DVD one really? Worth it?

dbz should've really ended with freeza, but since they decided to go beyond, ending it with the buu saga was much better than ending it after the cell saga

Actual the B team doesn't get involved at all, they just run and hide in the manga. I like the anime version of that scene better.
 
Gohan was a CHILD, what else do you expect?

Vegeta allowed Cell to become perfect so he could be all ego about it over-estimating his own abilities then as usual ends up oh sorry I can't win, can someone else do it?

I LOVE the Cell games in the Anime, its perfect. :) Goku dies saving people and passes the torch, everyone else 'does their part' really. It was awesome.

The Buu saga's tagged-on nature is obvious, especially as he was running out of ways to neuter characters as they got too powerful.

You can see how the first 1/3 of the Buu saga was his attempt to get back to the comedy of Dragonball, but apparently the fans wanted more POWER LEVELS so he had to change Buu from a fat idiot to a sneering plot device.

Toriyama was obviously running out of ideas by that point, especially as he was cribbing from Terminator 2 and Disney's Aladdin for designs. Gotenks is Aladdin and Buu is a pink genie with the T-1000's powers.

It's also obvious how Toriyama was parodying himself and the fans by then. Take Videl vs Spopovich. One of the most brutal fights in the series, and then he dies with a pop two minutes later. No Gohan revenge or anything.

Goku and Vegeta fight for the ULTIMATE BATTLE...which doesn't actually end.

Gohan gets a SUPER MYSTIC powerup by a crazy old man dancing. And then loses anyways.

And the most dangerous being in the universe gets mocked by a coffee candy.

Poor guy must've been so burned out he didn't care by then.

Gohan did kick the shit out of Frieza briefly,though. He was more important than Krillin. WHO DID JACK SHIT THE ENTIRE SERIES.

Like it or not, Gohan had the best moment in DBZ ever when he turns SSJ2. :)

My brother is a Vegata fanboy so I've had this argument for years growing up hehe.
 
i am not a fanboy. i am merely stating the facts

gohan fans cling to his ssj2 transformation and act as if that's gohan defining and only moment, when in fact he has always been a dumbass and that moment was the exception and not the rule. even if you add his fight against super buu, it makes no difference, especially since both times he still manages to screw it up somehow

but keep fooling yourself or blaming the executives. in the end the canon shows him as incompetent, weak etc

Krillin could have beat Frieza. Taiyoken to blind frieza + kienzan while frieza is blind and helpless. The End.
 
I think it was quite good how they only gradually gave glimpses of Gohan's powers throughout the series. He was a child from an overbearing mother not really ever having to do much before then lol, obviously the power was there but as if he could know what to do with it.

All building up to the end of the Cell saga where he gets control of it and eventually helps to win the day.

Goku dies, helped Gohan, torch has passed.

Seems pretty good ending to me.

But yeah, then the Buu saga comes along and now children can become SS easy and be crazy strong instantly for no reason.

Ok then.

At least kid Goku was an alien who turned into an ape thing.

I think I'm going to wait until all the Blu-Ray's of Kai are out in the US before I watch this. I am very interested in this new pacing and cutting out a lot of the boring filler.

I have all the orange HD boxes yet I haven't watched one of them - because it'd take too damn long. Lol. Good to have though, but I think I'd actually watch Kai.

There's still quite a bit of filler scenes, but nowhere near as bad as original.
 
Looks like DragonBall Heroes is another Data Cardass game. A shame we never got a ported version of those on anything, because they seem decent. But I also want those DragonBall x One Piece TV games that were never released here. Come on Funimation and Scamco, you know you want to!

I like you.

The Boo saga is the series going back to the beginning. Creating slapstick foes who could still be menacing in the right situations. It reclaimed its status of being a parody of martial arts epics, rather than becoming one itself.

And yeah, Gohan sucks. Grandpa Gohan is cool though.
 
The only highlights of the Boo Saga are Awesome Heel Vegeta and SSJ3 music. Take that away and you're left with garbage, well it is garbage, but with those two it at least smells a little nicer.

Very suspect that Daizex.com has removed all references to DragonBall Heroes. I don't think Toei would pull it down given that they've done nothing to the other Toei leaks (Super Saiya-Jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku, Kai, and the 2008 special). Unless it's something really big...
 
Nicktoons will be airing a super marathon of the first 36 episodes of Kai starting October 9 at 12PM. Sadly, Blue Popo is not included (although he should be seen in this week's broadcast on the CW4Kids).

This does me no good, being in Canada and all.
