Same thing as the regular but you get an artbook (plus possibly something else I suppose) for 12 bucks more, not too shabby if it's a good artbook or if you're a big DQ fan.

I wish this one included a (partial) soundtrack CD like the Xenosaga 2 LE Guide. And Xenosaga 2 hardly needed a soundtrack. But DQVIII begs for it.

Wonder if they have monster stats in those..I think the JP one did but I never got around to it, and so I don't have any of them in mine. :/

Maybe john_tv...

Don't Brady's strategy guides usually...I dunno...*suck*? There are only a few publishers that I think make awesome guides these days and Brady is not one of them. Shame they have the Square Enix license.

The Brady Chrono Cross and SF2 Anniversary Collection guides rock IMO (especially the latter).

My norpgskillhaving ass is going to be all over this, particularly the LE guide. Yeah Brady Games guides are not usually the best out there, but nowadays there are unfortunately very little options (minus GameFAQ).

This is entirely due to the fact that the SF community got some inside men workin' on this one.

For some reason I picked up a DQ8 guide in Japan around January. Free Slime stickers, who could resist?

It's pretty disgusting, but I am going to drop ~$120 on this game. The game, limited edition guide and the Slime controller.

Is yours the V-Jump or the official one from February? Does it have monster stats...?

Well, lately my time machine has been on the friz so it's the V-Jump one.

true, me too... but I think of it like: it's the first American DQ game that we CAN spend $120+ on.

i just know I won't be getting as many 360 launch games because of this. HOOOO YEAHHH

Ok, that one just has HP/MP/EXP/$/stars for AP/DP/AGI/a location to fight and common drop..I think the February one had HP/MP/AP/DP/AGI/EXP/$ all in numbers/common and rare drop. Thanks, though!

I wonder if it's going to be a full artbook, like at least 50 pages of exclusive art printed on high quality paper, or will it just be a small extra section in the back of the book showing some sketches. THAT'S what will decide if I shell out the extra 12.

Both guides are listed as having the same number as pages, I'm assuming it's a seperate book.

Also yeah, Versus was the only guide company that was consistently good, except for probably doublejump. We buy a lot of guides for collecting, it's usually hit or miss, I've seen good/bad Brady guides, good/bad Prima guides, etc.

Ditto, but it's not every day a game that I want as much as DQ8 comes out...
