Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake adds Switch 2 version, launches October 30 (Pre-orders now available)

The Switch 2 version is likely to have stronger performance and better load times compared to the Switch 1 version. Seems worth it despite the one time 10 or so minute one time download.

Ironically, if you get the Switch 1 version of the game (which can be played on Switch 2), you get the full game on the card.

It's both hilarious and sad at the same time.
That's exactly how I handled Suikoden 1 and 2. Switch software will keep selling as long as this keeps happening.

I'm curious if Akira Toriyama already did artwork for DQXII before passing away and even if thats the case who's going to be new artist for the next DQ game.

As far as I remember, no. This all new artwork.

Akira Toriyama artwork is very unique and very easy to spot. This is like Saint Seya situation, very unlikely you miss the artwork.

Oh lord, that's ridiculous. It's almost like they're intentionally trying to sell less Switch 2 games. This is mental!
It's dumb, but it's because there aren't smaller Switch 2 cartridges. You either pay for the full 32 gb or bigger cartridge or do a key card. The result will be almost all third-party games, both large and small, just being dummy cartridges to download the game digital.

You can't really blame anyone except Nintendo. They knew this would be the result. Like Sony and Microsoft, they want to phase out physical games.

This is likely the last major console with a physical option at all.

64 GB

I think physical will stick around, but mainly to extract extra money out of people who just can't quit it.
