Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Comes to PC This January

To quote the OP:

Huzzah! Wow, I had given up at this point. Will certainly buy.

Its weird that this took them so long. It felt like a game (much like Dark Souls) that would be loved and embraced by the PC community.

A little good word of mouth and I bet this will do well on the PC.

I play this on PS3 nearly everyday. Game is just that awesome. I wish I had a PC so I could play it there too. I hope this also comes to current gen consoles.

Finally, I loved Dragon's dogma, but never did get Dark Arisen because i had moved to next-gen, so will definitely be picking this up.

Hopefully it sells well enough that they release the online game for pc, or at least we FINALLY get a full fledged sequel to the game.

Holy shit this thread is now HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.

So has there actually been any concrete details besides the twitter announcement such as increased FPS, mod support, etc?

Wow...this was basically the only game that came out last gen I really wanted to play. Legit stuff Capcom. Good price point as well.

Will this one have better textures or the same?

It says improved fidelity. Textures are normally easy to improve as they generally start out with high quality ones, then drop the resolution until the game can run them. Hopefully that means they still have some old high quality assets they can go back to.

It is Capcom though, so you'd be asking for 2 miracles in one day there.

I cannot wait for a whole new bunch of people to play this. It may be the best action sword and sorcery game ever made.

It starts slow but every time you think you are near the end the game just keep going, and ramping up to an amazing finale. And then Bitterblack Isle is even more epic then that.

What a weird, out of fucking nowhere announcement.

I platinumed Dark Arisen on PS3 and PC gamers... you are in for a fucking TREAT.

This game is the best action-RPG next to Souls series. IT IS AMAZING.

Someone seomewhere is already starting on the blueprints of the most important mod of all.

"Immersive Pawn Comments"

-Less repetition
-Context sensitive
- and more

Muting them would be good enough in my book. That said, you can always play with the Assassin passive and not use any pawn, pretty fun way to play imo, especially since in general the pawns are dumb as rocks anyway. It's just really annoying for that one quest that requires you carry those super heavy stones around(in the cave behind the waterfall with all the lizards) since you can't carry all of them at once, though with Dark Arisen teleports I think it'd probably be a non factor.

Kinda looking forward to replaying the game, especially since hopefully the lags will be gone, so Mystic Knight can be used at full power.

Wait a second..
The game of my life is coming to...to.....

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT THIS IS THE DAY !!!!

Infinite franerates
Unlimited hd textures
Limitless armor mods and most importantly
More hair options via mods.

I want more hair and beards options dammit.

Oh I give up. I just bought it this year during a sale on PS3 because there seemed to be no hope of it landing on PC. I put it in my backlog and haven't even started yet and then this happens. Money, meet toilet.

edit : Oh, and maybe NOW we can have more than ONE goddamn save slot in this RPG with one of the worst checkpoint autosave systems i've dealt with in recent memory.

My first reaction upon quickly glancing at the title was "meh." Then I re-read it, realized the game being mentioned was Dark Arisen and not Online, and my heart flipped. It's about damned time.

Get the fuck in, my son!

totes amazeballs news. Will be glad to get rid of my 360 copy and delete the PS3 plus version and never look at those shitty framerates again.

This is gonna fucking be incredible at 60fps.

Fuck yeah, now I don't have to ever touch that laggy ass ugly ps3 version ever game.

Fucking great game held back by hardware, made me eventually just stop playing it.

Can not wait.

Hope it has a better save system.

The checkpoint save and manual save are separate, one doesn't overwrite the other.

So even if an autosave occurs you can still load up your manual save no prob.

You can save manually in this game at pretty much any time when not engaged in active combat.

OMG yes.

Only unfortunate part is I don't have a gaming PC anymore :( any chance of this port getting a PS4 release?

It's quite heart warming to see that this thread is just full of hype for 9/18 pages for a PC port of one of my favourite RPGs of last gen.

Just general curiosity, why did Dragon's Dogma run like absolute trash? It doesn't make sense. I mean I guess expecting a solid 60fps is too much, but why couldn't it have been steady.
