Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Comes to PC This January

Now THIS is a remaster I can get behind wholeheartedly. I'll actually buy it this time instead of waiting for PS+ to give it to me for free.

This is an MT Framework game, isn't it? If so, 60fps here we come!

This is a remaster that is actually going to benefit from coming to more powerful hardware. PS3/360 Dragon's Dogma had damn near unplayable framerate, ruined the game for me.

IF I can run this game at the resolution I want with 60+ FPS, I'm going to be stoked as fuck and yeah, it'll be the first remaster I've ever been excited for.

Favorite game from last gen. Now I can experience the sensation of abusing "thousand kisses" while mounting giant beasts at 60FPS. The joy of of video games.

Pretty odd that they didn't announce a PS4/XB1 version. Surely they'd announce them all together if they existed? : (

Anyway, with this announcement and the fact that Dragon's Dogma Online seems to be off to a good start in Japan - I hope this will all eventually lead to a Dragon's Dogma 2. Just the thought of it is....is....I....I need to sit down.
i wouldnt expect the title to come to consoles if they didn't mention it here. And honestly the game isn't that hard to run.

I wish I had the time to get really invested in this game, with a well optimized level 200 Arisen. It's so good, but it takes too long to develop an ideally balanced character.

Maybe this PC version will grace us with console commands that let us skip the long grind. Or maybe modders will save us.

Oh shit whhhhaaaaaaaatttt?????

Day 1. Sold. Take all my money. Honestly did not think this was going to get ported and I am so excited.

Now all I need are Halo: MCC and Bayonetta on PC and my life will be complete.

not likely but lord knows this forum is one of the ones with the most feverish love for the game.

Capcom probably thought "You know, the engine already runs great on PC and we're doing Dragons Dogma Online, might as well throw a couple extra bucks on this project pile and port Dark Arisen to PC and make some free money"

I am so tempted to break my not buy any new games policy until I beat a newer more recent title. I think I'll try to finish Arkham Asylum before January.

Technically, this is an old game, so you wouldn't be breaking any policies, would you? ;)

The irony is that Capcom is likely using this superior game to gauge interest in a very inferior one.

I'm level 30 in DDON and I can tell you that it offers very little of what made the original DD fun, it's totally party-oriented and a grind-fest post level 10.

thanks for the heads up. Hopefully this sells well so even if they decide to bring DDO to the west and it tanks they can look at it and realize maybe it's the game itself and not the series.

All I know is that with this my interest for DDO is back to zero.

Gotta love technicalities. This year has been filled with nothing but gaming miracles that pleases the fan. Heck, this decade alone. Still awaiting the announcement for a port of a certain Western.

First quarter next year is looking good. Off the top of my head I have. Dark Arisen, Dark Souls 3, Uncharted 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider....That's just PC/PS4, but that's what I'm looking forward to.

Dear fellow Arisens -

Tons of folks asked whether the upcoming PC port will have a capped frame rate. With DDDA being an MT Framework-based game, you can rest assured it'll have the usual graphics options found in other Capcom PC titles.

Stay tuned as we'll have more details to share regarding tech specs and features in the coming weeks/months.

When the store page goes up, will there be a pre-purchase option? If so, will there be any pre-purchase incentives, such as a digital version of the soundtrack?

Oh man, I just fired it up on PS3 to remind myself, and ended up playing for 2 hours. Even with the sluggishness and the small screen size, it's just so cool to run around in. The world they built is still impressive. And jumping on a giant ogre's back to stab it in the head is still great.

I bet this game is going to get a big wave of appreciation it never did in January.

I GUARANTEE you it will sell the most copies on the PC platform.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition ("with Artorias of the Abyss") has sold 2,765,000 units worldwide PC version sold: 2,111,500

Dark Souls 2 has sold 2,311,000 units worldwide PC version sold 1,023,812

Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin has sold 600,000 units worldwide PC version sold 306,452

They want that Dark Souls money.

Hopefully there will be some crazy high draw distance / LoD settings in there somewhere. Destroy pop-in.

I'm curious how it could have taken Capcom over three years to realize this game has huge potential on PC. It's so obvious.

I don't disagree with the hypothesis, but how is this evidence to support such a statement, here it clearly shows a similar game selling consistently less on the pc than world wide on the console.
