Dragon's Dogma |OT| For the night is dark and full of terrors

Damn. People have suggested placing it on the ledge by the Witchwood, do you guys have any recommendations? I also heard to place it by the greatwall but I havent gotten there yet

I put mine on a hill between the Encampment and Cassardis. Just wherever you do a lot of traffic.

spoilers for Deny Salvation quest
Damn I am kicking myself for not finding Quina in the woods early in the game, apparently I missed out on Arisens Bond which would be super helpful for choosing which NPC for this quest now. I hope it's not somoene important like the Inn guy lol

Laughing Banana

Weeping Pickle
Hmm.. no... that's the all women bandit group up near the greatwall. You can walk among them, but if the bandit leader sees a male in your group, she and the rest of the camp will go hostile.

This is not true.

...If you make your male characters wear female clothes, that is :p

i had the same problem during my first playtrough

i solved my problem by saving the dutchess ( and maxing my bond with her ) right before going for this quest.

Wow. I just did Mettle against metal quest for the first time. Missed it on my first playthrough. Probably one of the more intense encounters in this game for me.

If you dont mind me asking how did you do that? I saved her the first time

You need to have completed "arousing suspicion" first .
Once you get Deny salvation , you should also get the quest "dutchess in detress" from the dutchess maid in the castle.
If you've set the right triggers ( you need to have talked to the dutchess at least 5 times ).

At the end of dutchess in detress , your affection with the dutchess will be at max. Just complete deny salvation first without going for another npc. After deny salvation she should have been kidnapped by the dragon ( If you haven't another npc high, the gran soren inn keeper is your main problem ).

Then go for "the final battle" and hope for the best.

Ps: it's new game plus stuff for you then but you can have 2 characters post game with max affection for you ( living in your house )

Does anyone know if Dark Arisen will use the same trophy set as the original game?

Basically I want to know if I can safely trade in my original DD in preparation of DA, I'm missing 3-4 trophies and I would hate to not be able to go back and get them.

Should just be a DLC trophy pack that bolts on to the original game right?

I remember there being an awesome Google Doc spreadsheet for this game with what vocation level you learned different abilities, the augments for each vocation, and descriptions for all that.

Does anyone still have that by chance? Thinking of trying out some new classes for NG+ but want to know what I'd be getting into skill-wise. Currently a Warrior and kinda eh on it, but I don't want to do another playthrough as a Ranger, really, at least not right now.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
When I began as a Strider, my arrows and daggers had some kind of flame effect to them; they no longer do. Why is that?

Couple possibilities:

most likely your pawn was enchanting your weapons (if you have a mage with the ability) hitting left on the d-pad will request a buff.

less likely possibility is that you have weapons with fire enchantment all the time... you get the scalding razors pretty early, but not for your bow... so it was probably just a pawn buff.

It's safe to assume it'll be like Street fighter 4 and super street fighter 4 trophy lists at this point , Some similar , some changed and some new trophies added.
It'll be a new trophy list that's for sure since they didn't consider the patch expansion route..
So whenever you finish those trophies or not won't matter for this game

Kind of a crap shoot but anyone have an extra gold idol they can spare? Butched the quest to get one and I realized right after I saved. Put a downer on things for me as I was trying to do a perfect first run. I don't know if I have anything you want but if you want to exchange something let me know. Psn deliciousdoc pawn name is myrnia.

If DD wasn't retarded and let us keep more than one game save at a time (without having to juggle files on USB drives and whatnot) then I could have given you a real one.

But my only save I have atm... I just have a forgery, since I used the genuine article for the quest. Sorry man.

Turned on the Xbox today and was going to grind out some levels in Dragon's Dogma and saw they have changed the title name already from Dragon's Dogma to DD: Dark Arisen on my achievement list/recent menu. A little early, isn't it?

Hey all, I've been wanting to pick this up for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger. Should I wait for Dark Arisen, or pick up the regular game now? Also, forgive my ignorance, but is Dark Arisen an expansion pack, or like a Director's Cut of the original?

Expansion pack but also includes the base game. Just wait on that.

Some of the previews mentioned you should be around level 50 for the new island. But I'm level 115 and I don't want to restart and lose hundreds of hours of progress :(((

Finally started playing Dragon's Dogma... WOW! This game is badass!

I cut a hydra's head off and escorted as a gift to the Duke... amazing!

Question: do pawns other than your main pawn gain XP? It looks like the first pawn that joined me in the village hasn't leveled up. How do you customize the skills of your pawns?

They do not. And you have no direct control over their skills. They are and remain whatever they were when hired.

You can give them upgraded equipment, but understand you're "giving" this to the player who owns the pawn. And if you dismiss and rehire that same pawn you gifted equipment and weapons, they will be back to whatever default their owner has set for them, and not the items you so generously donated. Those are gone to the ether.

I personally do not play with pawns. But those who do generally switch them out for higher-lvl pawns every few hours.

Ok, then I'll keep all the good stuff for me and my main pawn.

I changed my Strider's profession to Assassin and bought a new sword. I swung it to check out the attack animation, struck a woman, and got thrown in a dungeon! Wut do?

Inspect some of the objects on the floor near the side wall of your prison cell , you might find a way to open the door and escape in the subway of the castle .Don't forget to change your equipement back once you're out of the cell.

So do we know if the Dark Arisen fixes the fast travel issue?
I'm close to the end I think (just finished the denying salvation quest)
But I'm getting tired of traipsing around the world that looks largely the same, has the same spawn points over and over again (I've killled those bandits around Gran Soren's ruined walls at least a dozen times now. ) And also hearing the same thing over and over again. Ugg. "Snow harpies!!" (just how many harpies and wolves can there possibly be?). I know there's ferry stones but I've only found two this whole time.

If the dark arisen did nothing else other than fix the fast travel I'd get it just for that.

Like I keep saying about Dragon's Dogma it missed on a lot of things. But the things that it got right it got so right that you're willing to put up with the rest.

If I didn't have Dark Souls waiting in the wings after I finish Dragons Dogma I'd go back and start it over again. It seems I'm missing a lot of stuff without a walkthrough.

This may have been addressed, but if you are not quite finished with DD, is it better to wait for Dark Arisen or is the Dark Arisen content "post game" content?

I'm replaying this in anticipation for Dark Arisen, and the
Cassardis
theme is creeping me the hell out because it just makes me think of
that eerie, pseudo-mindbreak ending.

It kind of sucks that you can't enable Hard Mode on a clean save.

The music is one of my favorite things about DD. Very fitting, I hope Bitter Black Isle has some goodness in store for us!

Man when you're doing good in this game, you feel awesome...but then a random enemy Kills you and you feel demotivated lol.

At any rate...I wish I didn't suck at character creation, my character has a good face, but I messed up her hair color =_=
That aside, I'm off to the Witchwood, but one archer destroyed me from a group of bandits, what are useful tips for combat as a Strider in terms of defense and offense?

My wife were playing around with the character creator and my wife said, "That guy looks like Zoolander." So we played with it about 20 more minutes and came up with a character that looks as much as Zoolander as possible. It makes all the cutscenes suddenly hilarious when the main character turns around and gives everyone Magnum or Le Tigre.

I will admit not being able to take a left has been difficult especially during the boss fights.

You have to post a pic!

I swear one of the base dudes at the start of character creation was modeled after Zoolander. My first character was Zoolanderesque, and I completely unintentionally made my new character have that same look. I didn't try to truly make either Zoolander, though, so I'm seconding the call for a picture of that magnificent bastard.

It's like playing a different game with how amazing every single cutscene becomes.

I really can't wait for DA to come out.

The video's look so good.

It will also scratch my itch for managing and working together with autonomous AI mates who aren't cannon fodder.

I'll probably end up giving my arisen and pawn a makeover since they both look less than stellar to be honest.

Gonna start a new game shortly so that I'm close to lv.50 for DA. Can't wait to see all the RC my old pawn accrued get transferred to my new game! Think I'll roll an assassin this time.

So I'm starting to believe the UR dragon only dies when I'm at work. I have yet to ever get him in grace period, nor ever get a mask drop from him.

When I last left DD I had just started a new game+ on hard mode. I wonder if that will affect the difficulty in the expansion. I think it would make sense that it would.

I still have 19 days to prepare so no rush.

Well looks like I missed the UR dragon grace again. Does anyone have a spare mask from him on Xbox? My gamer tag is AirborneExto
I think I might have it. My pawn was rocking a weird mask when I checked on my main account, and I think I got it from the Ur Dragon, but it's been so long I don't remember for sure.

I'll send it to you, and if it's the wrong one don't worry about it. My big, bulky, Sagat-like pawn looks silly in it.

EDIT: Oh god jesus nearly five million RC to rent your pawn. what do

Wait for Dark Arisen and see if it adds anything to Jonathan's RC shop.

Definitely going to replay this when the expansion comes along. I absolutely adored the game but the constant back and forth travel was not the ideal thing for me since I barely have an hour per day to play games.

Hearing that they made fast travel easier has got me excited.
