GRANBURY, Texas -- A police officer in Granbury was honored Tuesday for being a 3-year-old boy's real-life patrol hero, KDFW-TV reports.

The Granbury Police Department shared the story of Officer Chase Miller on its Facebook page. He was on duty a few days ago when a 911 operator dispatched paramedics to the little boy's location.

He was having a seizure due to a 106 degree temperature. His parents were frantic because he had stopped breathing and was unresponsive.

Officer Miller realized he was near the home and decided to help. His dash camera captured him jumping into action to perform CPR and ultimately revive the boy.

Miller, who has only been on the force for two years, was presented with a lifesaving award at the Granbury City Council meeting Tuesday night. Afterward, he also presented the little boy with something special.

Apparently the toddler's favorite TV show is Paw Patrol and his favorite character is Chase. Now he has a real-life Chase to look up to.

That's great on the officer but the kid should have been at the hospital with a 106 fever. Not sure what the parents were thinking but keeping the kid home...

Watched the video, felt for the mother as she was in absolute hysteria, good thing that cop knew exactly how to handle the situation, glad the baby is safe.

dave is ok

aztek is ok
Fucking hell where in Texas did it reach 106 degree weather. Midwest?
Yeah..fuck all that. I'd be home laying in a tub filled with ice lol.
The boys temperature was 106. Not the weather

Kids have high fevers. You're not advised to take them to the hospital until they hit 104 or 105 most of the time.

"Cop does his job"

WOW AMAZING

"I have a very shallow level of understanding about cop issues and neogaf's general reaction to such things, so I will attempt to gain points by doing the cool snarky remark stuff i see people do in cop topics without using any level of human thought"

Always good to hear some good news. I won't watch the video though, I can't handle seeing kids getting hurt/in danger (even if this ended well).

Here's another vote for avoiding all caps titles as much as possible though. The article is impressive enough as it is, shouting about it makes it look like a clickbait article.

Jesus man. A child's life was saved by a guy being amazing at just the right time. Being able to empathize with this kind of news isn't some character flaw, it's called being a human being.

They are called febrile seizures and happen mainly in young children. I myself had one when I was younger while in the back seat of the car as my parents were taking me home from a routine doctor visit.

Needless to say, they had to make a U-Turn right back to the office. It is scary shit.

Copy/pasted..wasn't intentional..

Major kudos to the officer, thank goodness he got there in time.

Just like my son.
I don't know how I could ever express my gratitude to this person if I was in that parent's shoes.

My 4 year old son loves Paw Patrol and now I'm crying at work because those photos at the end of the video hit too hard.

Should probably read less gaf at work.

That was a great work from Officer Miller. Damn, and he's only 2 years in the force and managed to be cool under pressure in order to do save the kid.

Good stuff, supposed to be 100+ all weekend here.
Woke up at 7AM and it's already like 75+ degrees. Fucking heatwaves wake up too early.

I fully expected this to be a white cop shooting an unarmed black child. So yeah... At least that didn't happen.
