God damn it. What the hell is happening in hollywood? All the greats are leaving or dying. I think Struzan is retiring so he won't be struck by the death curse going around. I hope he still does work for Speilberg and such.

I loved his Star Wars re-release posters. His Blade Runner and BTTF posters are classics. Too bad, but at least he can enjoy his retirement.

Wow. The final nail on painted posters.

Boy, am I glad I was able to get a Hellboy II Struzan poster earlier this year.

Looks like it's shitty photoshopped heads from here on out.

Even if you don't know his name, I guarantee you know his work.

BLADE RUNNER
BACK TO THE FUTURE
THE GOONIES
HARRY POTTER
HELLBOY
THE MUPPET MOVIES
INDIANA JONES
STAR WARS

Take a look at his masterpieces over at www.drewstruzan.com.

Where is Better off Dead in the OP? Classic movie.

Aww damn, his posters are the absolute cream of the crop, such a classic style fitting the movies absolutely perfectly.

His stuff was so brilliant. A shame there's no one else like him.

Every artist inspires a copycat. Perhaps with Struzan retired his copycats will get some love.

Who did this awesome poster?

This same artist did a lot of great posters during the late 70's early 80''s.

BOOOO! Such an icon of the movie industry. Looking over his page again, so many memories come rushing back. I simply can't imagine things like Star Wars or Back to the Future without his art.

Sad news, but well deserved retirement. I love his poster work. However he did it, he captured the feel of each film perfectly.

Noooo!

His stuff was a little formulaic lately, though, he really wasn't doing much to fight the "collage of stars' heads" syndrome that most movie posters have fallen into. His earlier work was much more interesting and experimental.
