I didn't say that I hope they close. I said I have no sympathy and deserve to. That isn't the same thing as hoping for it.
Seems like exactly what you said:
Literally no sympathy. I hope they fold.

I'd hate to see how you react when your toilet clogs up or when any other real world problem happens.
But yeah this is a mild inconvenience , I was pretty hyped about playing this a month ago. I'm also waiting for Sony to fix that PvZ issue.

how do you cope day to day in the real world? grow up.
He probably copes better than those in this thread that think no one gets fired in the real world when a product is released as broken as this.
Exactly. If I promised a customer something a year ago, had to delay it, and then at release still didn't give them the product promised, you're damn right I'd expect to be fired.
Why are basic expectations considered entitled? Stop worshiping anyone who calls themselves a game developer.

No one is worshiping anyone, but even though I am also a consumer I am not going to hope that a studio full of people get fired because the game that I have been a paying $5 a month subscription for isn't perfect at launch.
Calm down, bro.
It's not a great situation, but they are undoubtedly trying their hardest to get the game working and to deliver on their promise to get the Plus version out as soon as possible.
It's an inconvenience at best and it's one you'll probably receive access to some free DLC for.
So just relax. No need to call for anyone's head or call for the studio to be shuttered.
If I made a mistake as bad as Driveclub's launch at my job I wouldn't have one anymore.I think we've all made mistakes on the job. Let the bean counters at Sony make those decisions if they have to, but I'm not going to sit here and cheerlead it.
No need to call for anyone's head
Nope, see below. Is this even still planned to come out.
They won't, because it's obvious reading all of you that this game is doomed.
It couldn't even be a slow burner if they fixed the server issues, because we all know that racing games are a genre that's quickly out fashioned, right?
As Sony cannot do anything but closing Evolution Studios down in the short term, I don't think it's even necessary they try to fix the current situation or release the PS+ edition of the game.
Sony can refund us all and get us Knack as a compensation, I mean.
Is this even still planned to come out.
I'm not going to say you aren't entitled to your view, but I wouldn't be so quick to fire people who fuck up or to sack whole studios. Institutional knowledge of a fuck up on this scale, and the fixes needed to get back in good graces (provided that happens) will actually level up these devs. Its the fundamental difference between experience and wisdom, and a difference between writing software that works and engineering it so that it has some flex to it, accounts for exceptional circumstances and fails gracefully.Exactly. If I promised a customer something a year ago, had to delay it, and then at release still didn't give them the product promised, you're damn right I'd expect to be fired.
Not working perfect I can accept.
My issue is that I was promised a product and have received no product. That's not the same as there being issues.
You know that Sony reserve the right to delay and/or cancel any product they want to that launches on their services (PS+/SEN) right? You accepted their Terms of Service.
If anything happens to Evolution as a studio it's going to be because they messed up the full game launch/features, not because the PS+ version was late. Surely you can see that fixing the full versions is more of a priority than launching the PS+ version, right?
No I don't. I was promised a version as part of my subscription. Purchaser were promised a more complete version. I have nothing despite said promise. Purchasers have a game to play regardless of how "broken" it is. We both paid money. I have nothing and they have the product.

You should contact Sony about that and see if they won't remove your PS+ subscription as you're clearly unhappy with the service. No I don't. I was promised a version as part of my subscription. Damn this is scathing. I really didn't have much sympathy for Evo because no one (hopefully) put a gun to their head to release their game in this state but now I feel bad for them.
Have they said anything about the ps+ version?
People losing their jobs is bad. Yes! But we're talking about business here.Seriously. This is a bad situation for everyone from the studio to the players but I wouldn't want anyone to lose their job just because my driving game fix was temporarily inconvenienced. There's tons of other games to play right now.

If I were Jim Ryan / Shu Yoshida, I would close the Evolution Studios and try to acquire a new talented studio like Ready at Dawn, Sumo Digital or Playground Games. All three of them are very good studios with a nice history (just check their latest games).
Evolution Studios? Well, just check their latest games! And just look at the whole Driveclub fiasco. The whole story about it is hilarious!

And you will get your "free" version in time. Its not like you walked in the store and paid for it and the case was empty.
Seems like... never. So when is Dice closing?
A different studio could handle this (with a small team).I mean with the season pass, DLC, how much money they've already invested. Closing the studio would cost them more money than it saves.
Has the version of the game I paid for and was promised been made available yet?
No?
Then things are not vastly improved.
Their next game is going to bomb?A different studio could handle this (with a small team).
No reason to keep a big studio alive for more years, for more bombas, for more bad PR.
If ANYONE was going to get fired for this wouldn't it be whoever was responsible for the server bug that is causing these issues? Not saying I want even those people to be fired, but I don't see how a director is directly responsible. Without more information anyway.Employees shouldn't lose their jobs but I think someone like Rushy probably should be on the chopping block. The launch, management of time for a timely release and communication after the issues have all been horrible.
Say you were an exec at EA or Acti and you saw this guy's resume and under products you've successfully launched you saw DC, would you want this guy leading your team? Sorry but I sure wouldn't.
I didn't say that I hope they close. I said I have no sympathy and deserve to. That isn't the same thing as hoping for it.
At the end of the day they need to be held accountable and that might require some people to lose their jobs. I don't want the studio closed but this situation is absolutely insane. Its basically a case study on how not to launch a game.
They have been 'trying their hardest' long enough. Time for some Sony & Evo heads to roll. The current situation and state is unacceptable. Let's not forget they only delayed the game last year a couple of weeks before launch and only because it leaked. Sony should be ashamed of letting things get this out of hand.
Nobody is saying they deserve to be put to death for this. Just that they should be fired, then sued. And then their families be put to a slow, agonizing death while they watch. And their houses burned down. And when every single one of them is cold and alone on the street, only then will they understand the pain they've caused.
The pain of waiting more than 2 weeks for a demo.
Seems reasonable, right? No sympathy, let them all burn and die horrible deaths 'cause I ain't waiting for a demo.
Perfect!
Oh wait, this isn't facebook, this comment should find a home on there with others just like it on their wall.
It really is.Still not even being able to announce a release date for this is beyond embarrassing. It's actually ridiculous.
Well after looking at their last four AAA bombas like Motorstorm 1-3 and Driveclub, my guess would be "yes".Their next game is going to bomb?
How much did each game sell?Well after looking at their last four AAA bombas like Motorstorm 1-3 and Driveclub, my guess would be "yes".
I'm pretty sure the first Motorstorm sold over 4million copies. Or did I just make that up? LolIt really is.

Are million sellers bombas now?Well after looking at their last four AAA bombas like Motorstorm 1-3 and Driveclub, my guess would be "yes".

If I remember correctly: MS1 (3.5 mio. because of bundles / PS3 launch game), MS2 (slightly over 1 mio.), MS3 (slightly below 0,5 mio). How much did each game sell?
"Million sellers" as in 1 million? For a AAA game? Yes!Are million sellers bombas now?
What are these numbers based on (my request should have been more specific) and where is the Driveclub number? If I remember correctly: MS1 (3.5 mio. because of bundles / PS3 launch game), MS2 (slightly over 1 mio.), MS3 (slightly below 0,5 mio).
