In between pummelling opponents on the rugby field, the Stormers have been called on to deal a swift, sharp smack to an unruly Australian off the pitch.
It happened on a Qantas flight between Sydney and Perth on Sunday, as the team flew west to face Western Force on Friday.
A drunken passenger began raising hell at the back of the aircraft.
"He had had too much to drink. The cabin crew couldn't handle the guy," Stormers spokesperson Frikkie Erasmus said on Tuesday morning. "They came to ask us for our assistance."
"(Team consultant) Brendan Venter, being a doctor, said he knew how to deal with drunkards. He went back and managed to calm him down for a bit.
"But then the guy became very aggressive and abusive to other passengers.
"They crew realised the Stormers are quite big," Erasmus said. "So three Stormers went back to deal with the guy.
"He became extremely aggressive and abusive. So that's when one of the Stormers calmed him down with a good klap. It worked out quite well."
Erasmus named the calmer-in-chief as Wicus Blaauw, a young prop who was a surprise inclusion in the squad.
When we landed in Perth the federal police boarded the plane and arrested the passenger and took statements from the players," Erasmus said, adding there was nothing but gratitude towards the Stormers for their intervention.
