The Nintendo DS version of the first person shooter will utilize the system's touch screen for both a heads-up display for on-screen data display as well as stylus and/or thumb-wriststrap control, much like Metroid Prime: Hunters introduced. The game will feature options for both right and left-handed players.
GoldenEye: Rogue Agent will also feature wireless multiplayer for as many as eight players using only one cartridge through the Nintendo DS' Download Play function.
