Dust: An Elysian Tail |OT| Become the Storm

The person who made this game (Noogy) was also working on a feature-length animated film a while ago, incidentally also called "Elysian Tail".

I'm not sure why he stopped working on it, but I believe this game is the answer. Those of you on the fence: give this game a shot, if not for the gameplay, the gorgeous art and support toward a courageous and dedicated game designer.

Not gonna happen, since this is published by Microsoft. It might eventually come to Windows, but I wouldn't really count on it.

So were Castle Crashers and Alan Wake for their 360 releases. It took about two years for each of those to come out on other things, but it's possible. We'll just have to see what happens.

Alan Wake didn't come out on PS3. Only on Windows. I'm not sure if Castle Crashers was published by Microsoft, but we'll see.

if it happens, it happens. I just wish this thread could be without this shit.

Let's do this!
Hot damn. Let's do this.

All threads have this shit now. I don't know if it's because there's not as many exclusives as their used to be or what, but if the game's only coming out on PS3, someone will say 'man, i know why, but i wish it would show up somewhere else', if it's only showing up on the consoles, 'man, i'd love to see this on steam' or if it's on pc/consoles 'i'd love a vita version' and so on

It seems way too close to port begging.

I thought actually specifically addressing the issue in the OP would be enough, but apparently not :lol

Yeah I'll be picking this up day one as well. The animation alone is so impressive and inspiring. It's really motivating to know that pretty much one person made this.

Looks amazing. I've been following this game for a while and glad to see it is finally getting released. I'll have to dust off the 360 for this.

Hoping this does well for Noogy. I want to see him succeed -- and maybe even make another game if he wants!

I think MS more or less funded this game with that indie fund that Noogy won. I wouldn't expect to see it anywhere else.

Ahhh, the Dust shall settle soon!

This is just another great part of what's been a great XBLA year, overall. It's really impressive to see what Dust has grown into, considering the bar of XBLA games was a bit lower, when we first learned of this game. The fact it could be in development so long, and still seem so unique and relevant, is quite impressive!

This and Hybrid will be the only 2 SOA games I REALLY care about this year, and it's been a long wait, haha. But I'll actually stop playing Persona 4: Arena, to give this game the time and love it deserves!

Good luck noogy. Been looking forward to seeing this do well since I first saw you mention it here a looooong time ago.

Looks fantastic all around. Well done, Noogy.

Once this takes off, go pester CliffyB and get him to let you make Jazz 3.

Whoa I can't believe it, I was on love with this game when I first saw the trailer and now it looks like I can finally play it! :D And the OT is nice as well, good job! One question though, is the 15th a worldwide release or am I screwed for being in the EU?

Nope, worldwide next Wednesday!

I love how the attacks toss the enemies around like they're being buffeted by winds.

MS is the publisher...

I'd like to point out that Castle Crashers, Braid, Monday Night Combat, LIMBO, and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet were all published by Microsoft for Summer of Arcade events and all got releases on other platforms, so "published by Microsoft" does not mean "contractually exclusive forever".

Haven't turned on my 360 in months and haven't bought an XBLA game in even longer... but this will change that. Game looks so, so good... both visually and in terms of gameplay.

LOL it's only the second page and the thread is already starting with the is this coming/I wish this was coming out on [insert platform here] talk.

It's like a running joke in XBLA threads.

The game was made with XNA so I don't know about about a PS3 version.

Yea, at one point release exclusivity was probably part of agreements, but I wouldn't be surprised if things have changed as the market for downloadable games has gotten more competitive. In any case, this game has been in development as an XBLA game for years now and I'll be getting it day one.

Read up on how this game was made, and you'll see it's pretty unlikely it will be ported anytime soon.

And none of those games actually had Microsoft Game Studios before the title. There is a difference. The only other platform Microsoft Game Studio titles have hit have been Windows/Steam. Now I have no idea if this game has it before the title but I was just correcting what you said. :)
