Gonna be real. That awards video is cringe. The only thing worse than overly woke shit is people who make being anti-woke their entire identity.

Yeah, people gotta stop hailing anything anti-woke just for the sake of it. I know this sounds trite, but Stuttering Craig really is a grifter. Like, a couple of years back I spotted him in a video where he was shown participating in the Amico Intellivision scam. Then I checked out his YT channel and it was just failed attempt after failed attempt to grab money from people through his Screwattack credentials, before eventually landing in this new podcast. Which he began promising "no politics" before quickly turning into a screeching anti-woke circle jerk, because that was the only thing that worked for him somewhat. Culminating in him asking for donations to create these dumbass awards. Not surprising when you watch the first episodes, because he and his guests know absolutely nothing about current popculture, lol. Anti-woke is all they have.

funny side note, to register this show Craig used the same email adress he uses for an adult dating site where he cheats on his wife, lmao. Clown.

I understand the content creator perspective and you're right they're just trying to cash in on an audience by grifting. I don't understand the audience though. Who would want to consume this kind of content daily or at least frequently? Like I'm often disappointed by the industry in many ways and rant about it here and there but I'm not frothing at the mouth on youtube 24/7 about how bad the Witcher 4 is definetly 100% confirmed going to be because of this one person they hired... It's just insanity.

Most of GAF had some good laughs at Dustborn, Concord, and Veilguard when they launched and heavily meme'd on them but I'd like to think we moved on to talking about other things. I don't want to talk about or hear about these flops for 6 months straight. Veilguard is kinda sad because it could have been something better and there's interesting conversations around Concord that deal more with Sony leadership, but Dustborn isn't worth talking about at all at this point. Let that shit go.

Should've absolutely been Concord in all categories. Its failure has wide-ranging ramifications, like a bunch of other live-service games being cancelled, and companies taking a more critical look at their GaaS budgets.
Dustborn only won because of a bunch of triggered nerds. Yes, it's a meh game with bad story and cringe shit throughout, but it absolutely does not compare to the impact Concord's death had on the general industry.
This reward is purely about the game itself though, not about the impact on earth. Believe it or not, Concord was actually playable. Dustborn is just pure shit.

The show is worth watching, pretty funny.

Yeah, I enjoyed that, thanks. A rough first try, but I appreciate the effort. I skimmed through most of it, but I always do that with awards shows.

Tips for next year: at least play some brief footage of the game that won; don't just say X won then cut away, don't use so many Youtube jockeys with scripts, lose the indie segments, and keep the nominees to the year (vs. general Qs like what's your favorite Nintendo IP). Some of the nominees had me scratching my head (like for best gaming journalist- that is a very small nominating pool that people are drawing from; I guess it reflects the nature of the people who tune in). Stellar Blade taking 4 or 5 awards was funny.

Congrats to the EU taxpayers who funded this game. Money well spent!

Glad I could contribute to such an amazing accomplishment, I am very proud and I hope everyone involved is banned from making videogames or literally anything else for life.

A piece of info I didn't know before was that 90% of the votes for the Game Show Awards come from the media and not fans.
It made those awards they hand out even more meaningless for me because most of the time my taste and the media taste are at odds.

It kind of a catch 22 as well, because if it was all fan votes, it just comes down to a popularity contest and as GAF has shown us, bad takes abound based on your platform of choice.

I think the GSA needs to be rebalanced though. 90:10 is a terrible ratio. 50:50 probably isn't right either, but it's better than the shit they got right now.

Forget about dumpster fire that is Dustborn, the real scam here is the fact that they charge people for voting in these YouTube awards, lol. I would expect a bit more effort for something that you're being charged for, instead it's laughably bad production (if you can call it that) and lame jokes. Some of the naming for the categories is so cringe, like how is anyone gonna take you seriously when you name a category "Shitty Ass Game of the Year"? A bet a bunch of kids on YouTube can do a better job and be less lame than this. The Dustborn of game awards, lol.
