just wondering, how effective are these? I remember seeing a case of that cleaning liquid (supposedly removes scratches) for DVD/CDs at radio shack that was like ~10$. How do they work?

I used some form of cleaning liquid a few years ago and it appeared to have eaten away at the protective layer or something, as scratches were so much more common after doing so. I've never used it since and won't ever use it again. DVD/CD cleaning liquid technology may have advanced since then but I just look after my discs as well as possible now.

I use toothpaste.

Use Windex and a lint free microfiber cloth.
