It looks like both the two-disc limited edition and the single-disc edition have a theatrical cut and an extended cut with seamless branching.

Just buying Ray.

It's still playing down the street from me, and I want to see it, but it's cheaper to get the DVD at Best Buy on Tuesday than see it in theaters now.

Only purchase that matters this week for me...And I feel like smacking you for mentioning Beastmaster and Charmed but not Wonderfalls. But I won't. Because that would be mean.

How are they charging $15-20 for tickets to a movie that opened like 6-8 months ago?

Jules Dassin on criterion = drooling all over myself.

Don't forget

Those adult swim dvds are such a ripoff. You pay 35 bucks for maybe 2 hours of episodes.

I've never bought one for more than 17 bucks. Retail price is normally $25. (edit: Just checked amazon.com, apparently suggested retail for sealab is 30 bucks...damn, I've never seen an Adult Swim set over 25...30 bucks is a ripoff)

17 isn't much more than any other movie, and I'd buy 13 episodes of 12 minute Sealab/AHTF/Space Ghost long before most comedy movies.

Tickets are still $10. Food in the theater then is another $10-20.

They are still charging full price for movies like Ray because of Oscar nominations.

Okay, you can complain about the ticket price but it always annoys me that that people automatically add theatre food into the equation. Is it that hard to watch a film without stuffing yourself with grease and sugar? Or to eat in advance?

Adult Swim DVD are expensive, and annoyingly so. I don't think you can get them for less than $23-25 (even online).

Wonderfalls for me.

Yeah, Adult Swim dvds are damn expensive, you basically have to wait until they're super cheap. It's as if HBO published Adult Swim.

I bought the first sealab and second Aqua Teen for 18 bucks apiece at...uh...fuck. Suncoast, maybe? Anyway, it was the first week they were released. Best Buy sold the third Aqua Teen and the most recent Space Ghost set (volume 2, I think?) for 20 bucks in the first week, too. Didn't make it to the mall to check the prices at...Yeah, I'm gonna go with Suncoast. I might be entirely wrong, I've only been in the store twice and can't really think of which one it was. Not much cheaper than 23-25$, but cheaper nonetheless.

Both versions of Ray have 14 additional scenes. The regular version also has two uncut and complete musical performances, while the limited edition version has nine.

Matrix

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.
I'll be getting...

Wonderfalls
Karate Kid collection
The Grudge *I <3 Sarah*

RedDwarf

Smegging smeg of a smeg!
A Jess Franco movie comes out on DVD and once again nobody notices. Tsk tsk.

the entire karate kid collection is $25, thats a damn steal.

Yes, but the question is are they widescreen versions or just repackaged versions of the crappy fullscreen DVDs that are already out?

meh. I might pickup Ray on a blind buy (pun intended? Guess you'll never know) but other than that not much interests me. Is the HEAT 2 disc special edition out this week too?

I will eventually pick up Brak vol1 & sealab season 2 but since I spent a lot on PSP stuff recently I think I'll hold off for a couple of weeks.

I have the complete collection of these, worth the rent if you like the ideas of giant monsters and samurai in the same movie.

Doesn't Hunter S. Thompson totally hate "Where The Buffalo Roam"? Not that that is any reason to snub the movie, but I had heard that his reaction was violent anger, with some pretty choice words for Bill Murray....I'm just curious ;)

It's a pretty good handling of the subject, I think.

Raoul Duke is the name Thompson calls himself in his writings. So Murray is playing the character in the books, even though there's some allusion to the fact that his lawyer, Lazlo might be a figment of the writer's imagination or another alter ego.

On Where the Buffalo Roam (in which Bill Murray portrayed Thompson): "The movie ate shit, of course."
