Television: Andy Griffith S3, 'Allo, 'Allo S3, I Love Lucy S5, Little Britain S1, The Office (American version) S1, Saved By the Bell: The New Class S4, Simpsons S6 in a wacky box whose engineering privileges form over function, and Will and Grace S4.

B0009VBTP0.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

I've never seen the American version of The Office, but I already think that these people are too handsome, even the boss. The reason the Tim-and-Dawn plot worked in British Office is that Tim looked like some ordinary guy who was growing old before his time, and Dawn was a little on the fat side. Is American Office as funny as British Office?

Not that I had any idea what 'KRUMP' was beforehand, but I did a search and it is a dance: MTV Report. Funny as I search results for krump on MSNBC, CNN, and legit news sites. I had no idea wtf it was either, lol.

Is it as funny? I would say no. Is it pretty funny and worth watching? Yes. Not sure if it is a buy, I guess it depends how cheap I can get it.

the basketball episode was hilarious, but NBC is going to replay all the episodes in a row next week, so it makes the DVD release somewhat pointless (for me at least).

This man speaks the truth. I might pick up the Office, but I have all the episodes already, keep that on the DL, so unless theres some form of great extras, it's a no go captain.

those of you that are buying Sin City, which of the 4 covers are you getting? I think im gonna go with Jackie Boy, just because Benicio Del Toro is the coolest, ugliest mother fucker on the planet.

The one with everyone on it probably. I'm assuming that there is only one cover on the UMD version, so maybe I will get a different cover on DVD since I'll have the cover with everyone on UMD. Ah, who knows.

I'm pretty sure the one with everyone on it is the actual case. The other character cases are the carboard coverings, if I remember correctly

Undeclared.... I might pick that up depending on the price.

I don't think it's as funny, but both are very good.

The Pam-and-Jim plot is actually done well.

I agree about the handsome thing, but only now that you mention it. The Office UK was definitely an uglier, more realistic office. The US characters aren't attractive enough to bother me, though - not even close.

$29 through Deep Discount. Seems unlikely you can do better than that; kind of a bummer they chose not to do a deluxe yearbook set like with Freaks & Geeks, though.

The one with everyone is the ACTUAL dvd case cover.

It will be released in 4 different slipcases though.

Willis/Alba - Hartigan/Nancy

Rourke/King - Marv/Goldie

Owen/Dawson - Dwight/Gail

Del Toro/Murphy - Jackie Boy/Shellie

I doubt it will be 4 months. I see it comming out next summer near the release of Sin City 2.

IGN: Knowing that there will eventually be multiple versions of a film released on DVD, how do you make sure that your audience is satisfied with each of those iterations?
Rodriguez: Well, usually I just put out one. With this one, they are already putting out one that comes out [August 16] that is just bare bones. I had not put anything extra on that, because I didn't have time to finish my DVD extras. They will put that out four months later because of piracy and stuff like that, and they actually don't put anything on there so that they know, 'well, this isn't the real DVD.'

Though it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see it delayed, assuming that the sequel goes ahead on schedule.

Just a heads up...

Circuit City has the Sin City UMD for only $14.99, and it appears that the DVD is going for the same price all week. Circuit City is also giving away Lithograth sets with Sin City while supplies last.

Target has Sin City on DVD for $16.99.

Damn temptation. Sin City sounds good this week, and the Alba cover just adds to the seducing. Collector's baby! Extended cut! :'(

Hey! I love my UMD's, work is shit without them :lol

Wouldn't it be WAY more cost effective to buy the DVDs (which cost less to begin with), rip them to your computer, and then move them over to your PSP? Plus, it would be much less of a drain on your PSP's battery.

I know memory stick is expensive, but it would be more cost effective in the long run, and you'd be able to watch all the movies on your TV as well.

Any idea if the Circuit City lithographs have Super Rosario Dawson on any of them? If Y then I'm sorely tempted to buy a. . . oh yeah, I have no money. LOLOL >:|

You realize ripping DVDs to your computer is illegal, right? Don't even try to defend it with "backup" BS, you have to use a program to break the copy protection encryption on the disc in order to rip it.

Its the same as the guy who posted the thread asking if he should pay for a torrent site or iTunes. iTunes is legal, torrent sites are not. UMD movies are legal, ripped movies on your PC are not.

I see Jessica Alba, Del Toro, Bruce Willis, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke, and one with the DVD cover, but no Rosario.

Has anyone else notice how differeny Brittany Murphy looks in her promotional shots for Sin City than she actually does in the movie? It doesn't even really look like her.

Also, about the ripping movie thing, it's not more cost effective. A 1 Gig Memory Stick can probably hold like one movie...So you just spent at least $100 on a Memory Stick for one movie on your PSP, and put yourself at risk to be arrested for piracy. Doesn't sound too hot to me.

Meh, considering most PSP users here use the emulation scene to defend their support and purchase of the PSP through the dry months, I doubt legal issues is the #1 thing on their mind.

Just get a DVD and rip it if you want.

Is Sin City going to at least have a making of?

I think there is like an 8 minute making of feature on this release...And then more stuff coming towards December/January when the "deluxe edition" is released.

Uh, did I mention CDs or recording TV shows off TV? No. I was specifically talking about DVDs and breaking the CSS encryption on the disc, which is currently illegal to do.

I'm just making a point...do you not rip your cd's and put them on a mp3 player? Or would you rather just pay for the tracks on itunes instead?

I don't own a MP3 player except for the one on my PSP and my memory stick isn't big enough to fit that much.

But, have you never heard of DRM?

yes I have, but do you really think I care if its illegal? Am I hurting the industry by ripping a dvd to mp4 format? I may be hurting sony i guess but not really as I never intend to buy a umd ever.
