Dyatlov Pass - is the mystery finally solved? Documentary: An Unknown Compelling Force

I watched this the other day and highly recommend it. There are explanations for pretty much all the weird stuff related to this case. Or at least, things that could definetely have happened that aren't 'aliens did it'.

Not gonna spoil it for you, but it's pretty good.

Suddenly no one cares about Dyatlov Pass anymore

ok then
I actually had never heard of this until a couple years ago. There's a podcast called Those Conspiracy Guys that did an episode about it and that was the first time I had learned of it.

Definitely going to check this out, maybe I can trick my girlfriend into watching it with me

Dyatlov is one of those "mysteries" alongside the likes of Bermuda and Atlantis where people will always put forward new theories even if the answer is (and always has been) starring them in their face.

Getting kinda tired of it to be honest. A bunch of people got surprised by a snowstorm and froze to death. An wolf or something ate the tongue of one of them, another was soaked in small amounts of radiation because she worked at a nuclear plant and their camera took a picture that is most likely just one of them with a flashlight.

(edit) if you want more of this stuff though. Check out LEMMiNO and his videos, they are really good.

I did watch that and I love Lemmino videos.

But the documentary I posted has some different theories which sound way more plausible, IMO.

I was interested in this mystery because supposedly the locals in the area had reported seeing Russian military. It gave me the impression that these civilian mount climbers could have had a bad run in with some secretive training exercises up there. The details of the deaths, while grizzly, sounded like what you would expect if people got spooked out of their tents and sent running down a hill side in the dark. A couple of people ran off a cliff. One of those apparently took a beating on the way down. One of their tongues was eaten. The others basically froze to death, probably unable to see anything in the blinding snow. Mountain passes are terrible for flash blizzard conditions -- I've experienced it.

Probably the more amusing (or saddening) fact is that one of the people froze to death just a few meters from the tent or something. It's been too long since I first heard this story. Again, the only thing of interest was the possible military presence. Some locals said they saw a glowing orb -- it's not fully out of the question that a thunder snow event hit and a ball of lightning could have spooked the heck out of the climbers.

First thing i thought about was cannibals. They probably hitted some native population that kill whatever comes on there ground.

Also explains why they cut the tent, maybe they heard one of the guys that was outside scream because he was getting killed, or somebody jumped the tent at the front of those cannibals and they cut the side and run away. or maybe one person was infront of the tent and fell and another one was like fuck i am out and cuts it.

The more information gets forwards, like they find a tree with a sign on it and a tribe that does sacrificing, i would say yea that's the most logical solution.

The man in the snow confirms it even more.

Then them covering it up as "frozen to death" is to stop people from interfearing with those people. Destroying them and leaving them could also be a warning for the next person or they knew people would search for them so they kept them away from there camp.

Could also be one was a psycho murdered with a death wish and basically pulled them all in that forest to kill them off, or militairy that raped and murdered them and wanted it to look like something mysterious.

9 students died doing stupid shit before social media could document them doing said stupid shit. case closed.
Come on man, they fled their tents in the middle of the night, without shoes, in a snow storm.

I think it's kind of obvious that it was ghosts.

Avalanche was always my go to theory here. The tent itself was setup in a very idiotic spot. Their tent collapsed and got covered with some snow with all their belongings. Obviously, the easiest option was to cut your way out of the tent. Ok, they got out, now what? It's dark, cold and weather is bad. They are almost naked but need to dig out their belongings which could take way too long. They decided to head down the hill and create a campfire. Eitheir way they were fucked, even if they stayed at the tent.

It took half a month before the tent was even found. So the wind did a lot of work around the site.
