Welcome back to E3! This is the 21st E3 and also the 20th anniversary of the show.
This thread will, as always, provide an overview of the event and how to get the most out of it.
With all next generation consoles in full swing this year, we are set to see some truly spectacular titles.
Rumors of The Last Guardian and a new game from Retro Studios are only some of many. But even
already announced titles are destinated to bring some serious action; Doom, Fallout 4, Mirror's Edge Catalyst and
Star Wars Battlefront are highly anticipated games waiting to premiere. I think it's gonna be a great E3.
Note: Certain details are not yet available, thread will be updated continuously.

You can of course choose to watch E3 via various sources, but Twitch is the official streaming partner of E3 this year (as in 2014). Here's the press release from June 5:
Source: http://www.businesswire.com/news/ho...-Largest-Live-Broadcast-Schedule#.VXr3OPntlBeSAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Twitch, the world’s leading social video platform and community for gamers, today announced its milestone setting broadcast schedule as the official live streaming partner of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). In addition to broadcasting all of the E3 2015 press conferences and being the exclusive broadcasting platform for the PC Gaming Show, more than 30 publishers and developers will be showing games on the Twitch stage at South Hall, Booth #2803. For the first time, Twitch will have broadcasting partners from several countries providing localized content from the Twitch booth.
Adding a new twist, Twitch broadcasters will be allowed to co-stream all of the Twitch E3 content on twitch.tv/twitch to their own channels. By providing their own commentary on the news, this gives broadcasters the opportunity to create a more personalized, social experience for their communities.
As part of the E3 experience, Twitch is bringing back its Day 0 live broadcast on June 15 from 9:00am to 7:30pm PDT. Named for the day prior to the official start of E3, the Day 0 extravaganza includes all of the press conferences combined with exclusive game and gameplay reveals, appearances by major publishers and developers, and more.
From June 15-18, Twitch will broadcast from its stage with on-staff hosts Jon Carnage, Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham, and Jordan "Soma" Tayer, along with guest hosts MANvsGAME, Ezekiel_III, Swiftor, Seltzer, Anna Prosser, and djminiWHEAT. Watch as these personalities interact with top publishers, developers and the Twitch community while showcasing all of the latest games. To complement the English broadcast, popular Partnered channels from several countries will be doing regionalized shows from the Twitch booth. This includes a German-language presentation from Rocket Beans TV and a French presentation from Jeuxvideo.
Among this year’s guests from the publisher and developer community will be 2K, Activision, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America, Blizzard, Deep Silver, Devolver, Disney Interactive, EA, Konami, Microsoft Studios, Nintendo, PlayStation, Reverb, Square Enix, Tiny Build Games, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and many more, including an array of content from the Indie Megabooth.
All of the press events and booth broadcasts will be viewable from the Twitch E3 Portal.

In case you want to chat during the press conferences, we have these two established rooms:
The Steam NeoGAF group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/neogaf
The NeoGAF Tinychat: http://www.tinychat.com/tinygaffers
IRC chat for at least the conferences of Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo should be provided.
I won't post the address to these here directly. Instead ask in each respective thread.

These are the questions I best think are suitable for NeoGAF, for both enthusiasts and attendees on a more general level.
The official FAQ is of course readily available as well here: https://www.e3expo.com/attendee/2549/attendee-faq/
If you want anything added to the FAQ, just gimme a shout.
1. What exactly is E3?
E3 is the world's most prominent trade show for computer and video games and related products.
The show houses opportunity for game developers to show their latest projects, for retailers and distributors
to get together and for the press to get the biggest scoops.
2. Is the show open to the public?
Nope, the show is not open to the general public. It's intended only for professionals from the industry. Though this year the Entertainment Software Association are going to admit between 4,000 and 5,000 invited guests (of the public) into the show.
Polygon has more on this: http://www.polygon.com/2015/5/29/8687823/e3-opens-to-the-public-this-year-but-by-invite-only
Click here to view Industry Requirements.
3. When and where does E3 take place?
E3 2015, the actual expo, is scheduled to take place June 16-18, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The Los Angeles Convention Center is located at the intersection of the Santa Monica and Harbor Freeways.
4. Where is on-site Registration located at the Los Angeles Convention Center and what are the hours of operation?
On-site Registration counters are located in the South Hall Lobby of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Badge Pick-up counters are located outside of both the South and West Hall Lobbies.
On-site Registration Hours:
Sunday, June 14, 2015: 1:00PM - 6:00PM
Monday, June 15, 2015: 8:00AM - 6:00PM
Tuesday, June 16, 2015: 8:00AM - 6:00PM
Wednesday, June 17, 2015: 8:00AM - 6:00PM
Thursday, June 18, 2015: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
For questions about your registration, contact the E3 Registration Customer Service team at 877-216-6263.
For calls outside the U.S. dial 708-486-0718.
5. Do I need to show ID to get my badge?
All E3 Attendees will be required to show a government issued photo ID (driver's license or passport) in order to pick up their badge holder on-site and gain access to the event.
Do not use a fictitious name. The name on your ID and the name on your badge must be the same.
6. I work in the industry but I missed the April 28th deadline for free show floor admission. Can I still attend?
Yes. Registration will be available online and on-site at the Los Angeles Convention
Center (LACC) through show dates. The admission charge after April 28, 2015, is $995
for a three-day show floor pass.
7. What are the exhibit floor hours?
The exhibit floors will be open:
Tuesday, June 16: 12:00PM - 6:00PM
Wednesday, June 17: 10:00AM - 6:00PM
Thursday, June 18: 10:00AM - 5:00PM
Same goes for Meeting Rooms, but they open one hour earlier on Wednesday and Thursday.
8. Who is exhibiting at E3?
Software and hardware developers, news outlets, financial agencies, government bodies and many more exhibit at E3. The focus is on software and hardware developers though, where Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are the main attractions.
You can search for exhibitors here: http://mk02jm307.mapyourshow.com/6_0/search.cfm
9. Does the Los Angeles Convention Center feature a parking lot?
The Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) has 5500 parking spaces with easy public access. The parking fee is $20/day. In addition to the LACC parking, there are multiple lots available nearby, including at L.A. Live adjacent to the LACC.
10. Is there any restaurant/café at the Los Angeles Convention Center?
Taste of LA by Levy Restaurants is an in-house, exclusive eatery at LACC. What they will be serving this year I don't know, but you can have a look at the full catering menu.
Otherwise, Los Angeles features many restaurants to choose from. And with the variety of food, it'd be a shame if you didn't at least try one restaurant.
LA Tourism & Convention Board has created an excellent guide of dining places: http://www.discoverlosangeles.com/what-to-do/restaurants
11. What facilities are available for media on-site at E3 2015?
The E3 2015 Media Center, in Petree Hall, offers convenient support for journalists covering the show free of charge. It features a fully equipped, large working newsroom including:
- Mac and PC computers
- High-speed Internet access
- Wi-Fi network access
- Standard office equipment
- Photocopy machine
- Media-only hospitality suite
- Lockers
Yes, here is a preliminary schedule:
Below are the most notable gaming news site from which we will be gathering news over E3 week. General media is also covered to some extent.
Though prior to the list, I would like to take a moment to once again link to some press sites, mainly those of the larger companies. While primarily for journalists, some of these sites can be useful if you want to create an official thread for a certain game.
Microsoft provides press material in a very nice way. It's readily available for anyone as there is no password protection, and you can find anything from game covers in PSD format to logo files in vector format.
Xbox Media: http://news.xbox.com/media
Microsoft News Center: http://news.microsoft.com/
No password needed.
http://nintendo.e3press.com/
Username: Nintendo
Password: SuperMario2015
Sony's press sites are password protected. If you need a login, you need to contact SCEA/SCEE via phone/e-mail as I can find no way to register via that site.
PlayStation Press Center: http://presscenter.playstation.com/
Sony PressVault: http://www.sceuk-press.net/
General press releases are available here: http://us.playstation.com/corporate/about/press-release/
Electronic Arts
EA has two press sites, one for North America and one for Europe.
EA NA Press Site: http://www.info.ea.com/
EA EU Press Site: http://ea.gamespress.com/
Password needed for downloading assets on EU site.
Ubisoft
Ubisoft Press Extranet: http://ubisoft-press.com/
Password protected site, like Sony's. Most material will be available on other press sites as well though.
Bethesda
https://press.bethsoft.com/
Password protected site under PressXtra.Net.
Square Enix
NA: http://press.na.square-enix.com/landing.asp
PressXtra: http://www.square-enix-press.com/
The NA is not password protected, the PressXtra site is.
If you are in need of a good press hub to download assets from, I suggest you take a look at (quote to see) . Please don't send an application if you are not a journalist however.
One site that can also be very useful during E3 is Business Wire: http://www.businesswire.com
This requires no password and many companies, Nintendo for example, use this service for press releases. Easy to navigate and the search function is great.
