E3 2021’s list of banned words reportedly includes ‘Canada’ and ‘toejam’ | VGC

A work in progress JavaScript file found on the E3 domain includes a list of words registered users won’t be able to use when interacting through the event’s virtual booths (and potentially other areas where people will be able to send messages).

While the reasons for banning many of the words, most of which are said to be profane and of a sexual nature, are self-explanatory, some of the inclusions are surprising such as ‘Canada’, ‘toejam’, and ‘women rapping’.

Here’s a selection of the banned words reportedly presented as they appear in the JavaScript file which, it should be reiterated, is incomplete and subject to change:

Religion
alah, allah, azazel, christ, god, jew, jew!, jewed, jewish, lucifer, koran, nimrod, omfg, omg, qu’ran, quran, surah
Geography, nationality
canada, canadian
Political
black president, democratic socialism, right side broadcast, trump train

E3 is becoming more and more garbage and irrelevant. But Summer Game Fest is the serious one now.

Seems like in chat rooms. But it can't be more retard than this. ESA are losing it and glad that it's dying eventually. Seems like when things back to normal this Summer Game Fest will be the new big thing. I would love if it goes global and in a new content/country every year.

I know I am in the minority here but have never really cared about E3.

For years Mike Ybarra tried to get me to come out and was going to let me watch the show from backstage with the Xbox team and let me meet everyone, I never did go.

I think most people care about the games announced there. Honestly can't say I won't go there if it was around the corner, but from a gaming perspective I just wanna see the games so this online form is more focused. But nothing will beat that GOW reveal moment it was really epic.
