Nintendo Co, Ltd. General Manager Entertainment, Analysis & Development Division Takashi Tezuka and Manager/Producer Entertainment, Analysis & Development Division Katsuya Eguchi have revealed there's more Animal Crossing on the way.

While being interviewed, they were asked about there being a Revolution version of Animal Crossing. To which they replied;.

T. Tezuka: "Yes."

K. Eguchi: "We are trying to make it compatible with the DS version as well."

Unfortunately, no release date or further information about this game was given by the two gentlemen.

That is what you have to get to play all the NES games you download ;)

I am hoping you can get NES, SNES, and N64 consoles for your house and access the games stored on the system that way. It would certainly be a nice touch. :)

Whoo hoo!

I was wondering why an interview posted earlier mentioned trying to get the DS version of AC working with the Rev, and I wondered what he meant by that... (The analogy wasn't quite fitting, since the interviewer asked about something like Animal Island from the GCN one, and if the DS version would have something similar.)

I thought that a graphically simplistic game like this could come pre-loaded or pre-packed with the Revolution as a method for communication & trading. I think some people missed how in the past the NES & SNES would come with a game, since Nintendo is going for nostalgia I think they might as well. This is the kind of game that could be updated online and wouldn't cost too much to put in with each Revolution since it's already basically a "done" game.

I just read the Animal Crossing DS interview on IGN. No NES games. confirmed.

:( Sad really. Net play would have been killer, maybe they will add other mp games like a ping pong table or a checkers board that you could add to your house.

It seems like such a no brainer concept too. :(

I'm assuming they'll launch the Revolution during holiday 2006, but I may be wrong. In any case, since Animal Crossing was released for two systems, I don't see why this one can't be. If the Revolution launches with this, I'm buying it on day one. I just can't resist. Even if that's one of only a few worthwhile games on the system.

Oh ho!!
Rev first year of release

Mario
Super Smash Bros
Metroid
Zelda
Animal Crossing
New Shigsy IP
+100's of older retro games = +1 sale for me

Had the GC had this kinda release we would be looking at a different situation!

Huh? Where's Zelda for Rev in first year coming from?

Plus Rev has a long way to go. GCN first year was much better than that. It had Mario, Luigi, WaveRace, Smash, Metroid, Animal Crossing, New Shigsy IP = Pikmin, Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero, Rogue Leader, Beach Spikers, Star Fox Adventures, etc.

sorry Zelda etc are already under dev and the rev is 18months away so i'm sure it'll be out in the first year, also thats games we know about.
Obviously more incl SE games

Ehh, within the first year GCN had Mario, SSBM, Animal Crossing, new IP in Pikmin, and if we count the next holiday season as part of the first year stuff (which is probably the case for the list you posted), there was Zelda in Japan and Metroid in the US. Along with things like multiple Resident Evils, Sonic, and the major multiplatform titles.
