I'd be a little surprised if that happened. I figured we'd see the next Mario in 2026 and the next Animal Crossing in 2027.

I rememeber when this guy made a video literally crying in his car saying he had so much anxiety about going in the grocery store because there were so many people there and he didn't think he could handle it. Then a few weeks later he was at a gaming convention. These people are so fake and make shit up all the time. He probably knows nothing. Plus he is super obnoxious in general.

ehh that's good and all but I really want new games so maybe they can new it up enough but thats a hard game to add to .
like the Donkey Kong game is a new game with an existing IP.

Surprise me Nintendo don't just throw out new versions of games that do not need new versions yet.

I could never get past 15 or so hours into new horizons, restarted a few times

does it become a lot more fun/interesting later on, or if I didn't like it at the start I probably won't like it?

New Horizons was a step down in NPC interactions in some regards so it would be nice to get a bigger emphasis on those simulation elements as well as more interactive items. They could also expand the terraforming options and do the obvious in expanding the roster of villagers and items in the game. Also bring back the police station.

I'd say no. It really becomes a game that you play for ~30 minutes a day wile you do chores (pick weeds, complete out the bug/fish/fossil collections, etc.) and perfect your home/island layout and villager roster.

According to Wood Hawker from the Beatemups Youtube channel a new Animal Crossing game for Switch 2 (2026 title) is going to be announced next month in a Nintendo Direct alongside Methaphor: ReFantazio for Switch 2 (Keycard) a Upgrade for The Witcher 3 for Switch 2, Death Stranding Director Cut S and others third party games. Pokemon Colosseum for GC + Prime 4 release date. As always take this like a grain of salt.

Time 1:18:34

That's a lot of soy in that thumbnail

Not gonna lie, a new Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Metroid Prime, Pokemon and Animal Crossing all within the first year of the Switch 2 would be insane.

What I really hope is that the Switch 2 keeps up the tradition of being a flagship console for JRPGs.

The first Switch was an absolute treasure trove. So one more JRPG in the next Direct would be perfect.

As this is a Japan-focused company and has a strong market in Japan/Asia, having better hardware, I do see just the same or, if not better, support of JRPGs in general with a system like the first (as long as it continues to sell big).

I saw this clip earlier, and I just don't buy it. His entire list has powerful "fake 4chan leak" vibes.

It feels like someone with no insider information tried to think of a few games that could plausibly come to the Switch 2, blurted out the first four or five that came to mind and left it at that.

This is one of my least favorite kind of leaks, because it manages to seem both boring and implausible. On the one hand, there's zero overlap with games that we know about from more reputable leakers (like RDR2) or publicly available information (CoD), while, on the other, there's nothing particularly weird or surprising (like a blue ocean title or an unexpected take on a dormant IP). Just a bunch of painfully safe lies.

I'm not posting the link because I don't want to give him clicks for this bullshit "experiment," but you can find the video easily enough if you absolutely have to.

I can confirm the next general Nintendo Direct will be some time between 8/4 and 9/26, but more likely between 8/18 and 9/19. Due to deductive reasoning and logic, which is not hard to do. I also think *sequels* to popular series that had installments on Switch will be announced for their new system. Pretty wild stuff! Animal Crossing might even be announced due to it being a 6 year gap between games once we hit March 2026.

Pretty crazy, but hear me out!

Well, that's an annoying route to take. I will find this YouTube channel just to mark it so YouTube never shows him again.

If I was a subscriber/ listener to this guy i'd for sure unsubscribe for that. That's like a complete betrayal of your readership base. If we hadn't completely replaced games journalism with know-nothing/ untrained YouTubers, we wouldn't have to deal with all this shit.

But we're so smart we now got rid of basically all journalists in games media, and the platform holders and publishers love it, because YouTubers are just fans who puff up the shit they get sent because otherwise the publishers and platform holders would just stop sending them free games and systems.

You see, the checks and balances of actual games media being a check on platform holders and publishers is basically gone. It's now turned into basically just shilling to paid advertisers. Really gross stuff. But here we are!

Yeah, he's full of shit. I couldn't stand him prior to this, so this stunt only made me more confident in my priors.

I love how he presents it as if there was a lesson to be learned here, as if we needed additional proof in the year of our lord 2025 that a person with a large platform could exploit it to deceive gullible people. Real fucking contribution to human knowledge there.
