E3: Now with less idiots

Not sure if this has been posted, but here it is.

I just got an email back denying my application because I'm not a full-time worker. I contacted them and they said that there were too many holiday workers that were fired or only worked one day that signed up and went in.

So... yeah. Should be somewhat less crowded, I imagine, for people who will go.
 
I see...well that sucks. They really do need to cut back on the number of people there though. Sucks you can't go (legitimately) though.

Well I still can, legitimately. Not sure if I should play the press card though.
 
Glad to hear it, ( not your rejection necessarily ) hopefully they will get tighter and tighter with checking credentials, there are way too many people crowding the show that should not be there, wish it was more like GDC.

The problems:

1. No editorials yet.
2. Don't know how to do the tax thing.
3. Haven't used my real name for anything I've written
4. I don't update the site, it's up to the two owners
5. April 11 is 9 days away.

I can still get it done, but the main problem is #4. So far the updates have been weekly.
 
I think this is bullshit.
I've been to E3 for the past six years legitimately and the complaining about hardcore gaming fans getting is is rediculous. They have more of a right to be there than the industry destroying suits. I think the fat sweaty gamers taking snaps of booth babes makes E3. The more the merrier I say!

That being said, all my meeting are in the off limits areas. I think I I was working the floor it might make me go mental.

To be honest, I have no interest at all in attending E3.

I was asking because there are a bunch of people from my school who are going to E3 and I'm trying to figure out how they are getting in. I had assumed it was strictly just press and retail people but now I am not entirely sure.

You can buy your way in for $275 a pop. That's the "easiest" way to get in.

It's a trade show, if it wasn't for the "industry destroying suits" there wouldn't be a show to go to.

I don't think I need anything yet. Last year on accident they sent me two passes because of my employment with two different places. I got two emails this year as well and so far one has been approved. *Crosses fingers for the other approval*

Try taking in an E3. Folder has the assessment right on the money. It'd be one thing to keep gamers out, but they let in so many other people who aren't supposed to be there, and so many who shouldn't.

Oh... well, I'm not sure I like the idea going with someone else's badge. Guy stopped me at the west hall last year, grabbed my badge and asked what my name was. A friend of mine stalled, and he just ripped it off their neck.

Did you guys look suspicious, or something? I can't imagine randomly challenging badged e3 folk being a good public relations move.

Well, I didn't see him get his pulled. I just heard about it later the next week. I think it was because it was 3:00 on Friday, and people were searching through bins for tags that nobody wanted anymore.

Hmm. I guess that makes sense.

I'm still waiting to see if Gamespy pulls through and provides their hosted sites e3 passes again, like they have for the past two years. Then again, I might not be able to get down there anyway...
 
if you work for any major corporation you can get in. I work for DELL and one of my coworkers is going so yeah...

Yeah, that was about the dumbest thing I saw there. Randomly stopping people AN HOUR before the end of the show? C'mon...
 
There is an un-advertised way to get in under a Student pass. A few of my friends did that this year to go with me. Same thing as package 5, you can only go to the exhibits for free. Its a way to get in if you don't have the proper "credentials." You have to email them a few things - including a transcript from the school. I don't remember all the things they want in the application package off hand, but if you go to their site and email their customer service and ask what the details are for the student pass, I'm sure they'd let you know.
