E3 PUSHES FORWARD WITH PLANS FOR A DIGITAL 2021 EVENT

I was always kind of underwhelmed by most of the E3 shows(Sony had a few good ones),but after last years online events I kind of miss the real shows even if they are a bit shit....not excited for this at all.

Oh FFS.

Geoff is going to do it again on top of this digital E3/

Yay for announcements being spread out over way too long of a period again.

Just give me 3 days of madness.

Dont expect too much from E3 2021

Game development is taking a hit due to covid 19

Heres some realistic expectation :

Horizon Forbidden West gameplay and release date

Halo Infinite gameplay and release date

Harry Potter gameplay and release date

Some new remaster and gamepass/ psplus game

New 2022 sports game announcement

Elden Ring gameplay and release date

Batlefield 6 gameplay and release date

Posible Breath of The Wild 2 gameplay and release date

Posible 1 or 2 new AAA game announcement from either ps xbox or nintendo

Diablo IV gameplay and release date

And thats it
Lol no, everyone has tons of stuff to show this year:

Capcom:
  • Dragon's Dogma 2?
  • Pragmata
  • One of the leaked Resident Evil spin-offs
  • Street Fighter VI
Electronic Arts:
  • Battlefield 6
  • Dragon Age 4
  • EA Sports
  • Need for Speed by Criterion
  • New AAA IP by EA Motive (teased last year)
  • + some indie games by EA Originals
Microsoft:
  • Avowed
  • Everwild
  • Fable
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Forza Horizon 5? (rumored to come out this fall instead of the new Motorsport)
  • Halo Infinite
  • Hellblade 2
  • New IP by Arkane Austin?
  • Perfect Dark
  • Project Mara
  • Psychonauts 2
  • Starfield?
  • State of Decay 3
  • Wolfenstein 3
Square Enix:
  • Babylon's Fall
  • Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker
  • Final Fantasy XVI
  • Life is Strange 3
  • Project Athia
  • Some of the four new games being worked on at Eidos Montreal at the moment?
Sony Interactive Entertainment:
  • Bloodborne Remastered (only if it's not already out by E3 time)
  • Death Stranding: Extended
  • Ghostwire Tokyo
  • God of War: Ragnarok
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Horizon: Forbidden West
  • Metal Gear Solid Remake by Bluepoint
  • New AAA IP by Arrowhead
  • Silent Hill by Japan Studio
  • The Last Of Us multiplayer
  • Whatever game their new studio in San Diego has been working on
And that's without considering that they could go all-in like in 2016 and announce games that are some years away like Days Gone 2, Guerrilla's multiplayer title, London's first console game in years, Cory Barlog's new IP, Kojima's new game, etc.

Ubisoft:
  • Avatar by Massive Entertainment?
  • Beyond: Good & Evil 2?
  • Far Cry 6
  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
  • Rainbow Six: Quarantine
  • Riders Republic
  • New IP by some of their studios?
  • Skull & Bones?
Warner Bros. Games:
  • Gotham Knights
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Injustice 3? (MK11 was released two years ago)
  • New LEGO games
  • Suicide Squad
And I'm leaving out many other publishers, big and small, such as Take-Two, SEGA, Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic, Activision, Epic Games, fucking Nintendo and the whole indie scene.

I really hope do. Last year sucked. The summer of games thing was dreadful. We need a few big shows, not a million of them. This is one of those cases where less is more.

So are we likely to get the big boys signing up for this? If one does I think they'll all follow, but is going alone the better option?

Anything's better than Geoff Keighley's "Summer of Games" dicktease nonsense that went on for months last year. That shit was worse than nothing.

Last year E3 was crap despite the big chance of the next gen consoles. This year with no new console will be even worse.
What do you mean?
There was no E3 in 2020.

Anyway, I'm assuming that the one "big publisher" that won't be attending it's EA that has been doing its own thing for some years now.
Also don't really expect Nintendo or Sony to show up.

But I'd be fine with all the others.

E3 is shite. Sooner it dies the better. Sony won't be there so who gives a fuck.
