E3 rumor regarding PlayStation Plus

I don't really have a better place to put this, since I don't know of an E3 speculation thread, so here we go...

It appears that the PS2->PS3 HD collections are basically spent now.

So far SCEA hasn't done squat with its PS2 classics program on PS Store.

The PS Vita still doesn't support PS1 games.

We now have a reasonable expectation that there will be a PS1/PS2 streaming program through Gakai.

And there clearly is a revamped PS+ program coming up.

Sooooo... PS+ will be required for PS1/PS2 game streaming, including lots of games that are obvious candidates for the PS2 classics program but for some reason haven't been added. The service will work on PS3 and PSV, giving the PSV access to PS1 games that people have been clamoring for.

On top of that, PS Vita will get a 3-month (or greater) voucher with each new system to try the PS+ program and game streaming, and this will be in lieu of a price drop or larger bundle at same price.

Did I leave anything out? :)

Edit: Oh, yeah, and I'd expect GTA games to be part of the streaming. That'd be perfect! ;)

That sounds good, but I will murder someone if Vita doesn't get native PS1 support, I bought a bunch of PS1 classics on sale in anticipation :|

Once again: do free 30 day PS+ memberships from game coupons count?

Here are my realistic expectations.
-web store accessible to everyone. You can buy games on there and it will go to your ps3 download list.
-plus exclusive: control your ps from the browser. So you can turn it on and select things in your dl list to download, or tell it to check for patches for your games, and accept friend requests, send messages, etc.
-gow mp beta plus exclusive.
-battle royale beta plus exclusive.

give me those things and ill be happy.

Quoted again. This would be a very smart move. In fact, all betas should be + only period.

i recently found out my account wasn't set to auto draft funds when a subscription is initiated or renewed, so it made me wonder if my PS+ had expired or not. how can i tell? i tried the PSN and SEN sites and logged in, but it didn't list my PS+ thing anywhere.

easy way would be the plus sign by your name in PS3 friend list or on the top corner in the XMB in the notification if have not turned it off.

Wasn't the exclusive betas thing supposed to be one of the key features of PS+ in the beginning? I so don't care anymore, honestly.

Yeap, it's a bulletpoint in the PS+ store section. Says that UC3, Starhawk and Ass Creed Brothers were betas for plus members.

Make a post on the blog you should see a + on your avatar.

All multiplayer, which is why I didn't care.

Back in my day, beta tests included single player. :P

Yeah, but these aren't even legit beta tests anymore, more just an early multiplayer demo. Beta test basically are buzz words these days.

Weird question, but do you all know if there's any way, besides going into the store, to see what your balance is on a Gamestop card? I'm hoping I have like 10 or 20 bucks on there, so I don't actually have to spend anything.

How delusional am I for hoping to see a FFXIV Online Beta for PS+?

Sounds plausible to me.

All but one person from my friends list remains on my PS3 since I signed up to Plus. Is that the surprise Sony?

Edit: phew, they reappeared just now.

Question- I've 'purchased' Max Payne with plus for free. Do I actually need to download it now, or can I do that still once the Plus content is updated?

You are awesome! :) Thank you.

EDIT: I don't think it works for PowerUp cards though.

It should. The number spaced out should be the one your inputting as the powerup card credit is the same as trade credit. Unless your talking about the points.

Oh really, I'll try again. I'm looking for the money balance, not the points.

EDIT: Thanks it worked, you just have to use the four digit pin for "pin" (duh) and the bottom most number, but with no spaces.

The other two ways mentioned earlier are easier to check but if you want to know exactly when you PS Plus is expiring, log in to your PS3 and go to,

Account Management->Transaction Management->Services List->PlayStation Plus.

So... anyone a place that could hook me up with PSN money quick? :s

My credit card is barred from PSN due to my location.

Is today the last day or is tomorrow the last day to get in on the PS+ thing before the announcement? And for the free rental games, are they playable when PSN is down?

Best Buy since if your not from the US you can still buy stuff from them buy using a specific shipping address.

The downside is that the code might take a while to reach your email (can be between minutes or hours)

Why don't you folks just buy it from PSN? It's the same price as Gamestop and Bestbuy

Never giving Sony a CC number.

I really hope this is something good, I'm going to be kind of pissed if this was just PR bullshit.

Curious about this as well.

Why? You can delete your CC deatails with ease. It's not like MS where they make virtually impossible to removed deets.

I'm really wondering what they have planned.

Why would I only benefit if I'm already a PS+ member. Don't they want to attract new customers?

I guess it could be something like free access to a new games streaming service if you're already a member, otherwise it's an additional fee of $xx.

On the other hand, the twitter entry said it would be enough if you just get the 3 month sub.
That's suggests more something like exclusive access to mp betas, games and/or E3 demos (though the latter can only be of almost finished games or at least segments to achieve a certain quality and not throwing alpha-versions at casual end-consumers).

If it's just the Vita integration and free big games things, then meh. Don't care about portable gaming and the free games are sometimes nice but unless it's free at release I usually already bought the ones I really want. Also even my 500gb of space are almost not enough w/o deleting installs/patches of older games etc. so I'm not actually a fan of digital releases of 10+gb disc games.
Besides, I already expect&get free games from PS+ every month so that would hardly be a surprise/new "future of PS+"?

Personally, I would be more happy over new PS+ online(!)-features (network&firmware-based) and stuff like free-DLC to whatever games you own.
...Or turn Trophies of current PS+ members into PS-Store currency :P

I still have my sub active anyway, but I won't get excited just yet.

I _think_ tomorrow is the last day, but buy it today to make sure. And yes, you can play them while PSN is down or when you're offline.

I don't have access to the PSN store right now. How long do the full game demos last? I remember seeing there was an Assassin's Creed Revelations full game demo last night?

I have a gamestop card, and on their site they say you get the plus code right away.
Anyone have experience?

Edit: Worked fine

This stance baffles me. They've had my CC number since 2007, and nothing has happened.

From what I recall, they encrypted all credit card data. And when they were hacked, the attackers could not access this data. So I don't see a problem in giving Sony a CC number, too.

I'm going get the three months.

If they make some deal after the conference with bonus months like last year, heads will roll, particularly PS+GAF.
