EA announce X05 lineup

BF2 is a PC game.

Uh BF2 Modern Combat is not a port of Battlefield 2 from the PC despite people swearing up and down that the X360 would be a PC port and those same people foolishly passing on the PC version for their false hope of buying it on the X360.

wow, that is so much ownage right there... in all honesty, looking at those two compared like that, i'd have to give a slight edge to nfl 2k5 xbox 1 graphics over madden 2006 x360 graphics.

fucking sad EA... mailing it in on x360 i see. probably spending all their time preparing the uber awesome ps3 2007 versions. :/

the only problem is that the 2K5 screen is not what that game looks like on a big screen HDTV. I know there's only a few people these things apply to, but when you have a large screen and you're playing a 720p game, it's going to look like the screens you see on the computer. 2K5 was jaggy to all hell in 480p, and to see all of the same things in high-res is a much bigger difference than people think. On the kickoff, the players closest to the screen are jaggy, but the guys returning the kick look like a spider in the atari 2600 version of cetipede (seriously).

The 2K5 shot has a distinct lack of shadowing, poor geometry (Tomlinson is shoving the football through his bicep among other things), and all the players look as if they are floating in thin air. No to mention that this is a very generous shot for 2K5.

You would think that after 20+ years of making sports games, EA Sports would know how to design a decent looking player model. Big up to Nathken and the stadium crew, you guys really outdid yourselves.

WOW the haters are out in full force in this thread :|

Im being completely honest here.

Now this was from my PSP so Im sure this had something to do with it. I showed my brother that Xbox/360 Madden comparision and he thought both shots were from the Xbox version. It showed me that the only "glaring" improvement is the resolution. When I showed him the tarfget renders he went crazy, those shots really showed something contrasting to this generation.

Anyone who thinks 2K5 looks better than Madden 2006 for the 360 is smoking crack.

Madden's players are short and squat. 2K's players are stretched out and rubbery. You can't win either way. But seriously, you would think by now that somebody would come up with a player model that looks human.

Not bad. There is definitely a Fever feel to the Ray Lewis model though, despite the sweat and detail which they did well. The expression is just cartoony when compared to NBA2k6 or MGS4. They have got to get better at modeling throughout next gen. But, looking at the pic of Vick and the line, I'll take it. Madden's still an awesome game, I can't wait to play a next gen version with a lot of work put into stadiums and animation. Speaking of which, the stadiums look and sound awesome from everything I've heard. I can not wait!

Also, that snow shot looks bad ass. Has a definite atmospheric effect. Reminds me of Foxboro against the Raiders. Those are the special times in football. Btw, are they going to put some attention into the grass in Madden 2007? They have to tackle that at some point. The game would look a hell of a lot better in motion if characters slid across snow and carried it into piles on the field or shovel an area figuratively. Or in grass rip some grass up on occasion. Not over do it, but mix the dirt and well-rendered grass, and get it on players. It would raise the bar quite a bit, and do for Madden what moving cloth and sweat has done for NBA2k6.
