EA censors its own support number on its forums

I remember when I looked forward to games from EA :(

RIP

Just wait for the Mirror's Edge 2 announcement :)

I don't know how this is even remotely acceptable or even legal, from a consumer protection and customer service standpoint.

I bought SimCity (albeit for £19; fuck £45) and am enjoying it, generally, but it might very well be the last EA game I buy. If Konami get next-gen Pro Evolution Soccer back into gear then I have no reason to support EA anymore.

I, for one, am hoping for Lionel Mandrake recap. Some time in the future, since this is still delivering on all fronts.

Never have I seen a game launch so full of fail, especially when it is related to one of the biggest cooperations in the industry.

I mean say whatever you want about the launch of Half Life 2, at least Valve didn't cower from their mistakes.

I have never seen anyone outside of this forum give a shit about Mirrors Edge. Didn't that game bomb hard in sales?

I think the better way to look at it is that Mirror's Edge is a production of DICE, who also makes Battlefield. The question wasn't "Did Mirror's Edge sell enough to make money?", it was "Did Mirror's Edge sell enough to justify its slot in their schedule?"

Lifetime US sales are a little over 500k, but I think a lot of those sold at a reduced pricepoint.

All this talk of "supporting" EA through purchases made me curious and guess what you guys, I think I may be the only person on NeoGAF who's never bought an EA game, at least if this list is accurate.

I mean, yeah I've played stuff like FIFA, NBA Jam, Rock Band at friend's places but I've apparently never given EA my cheddar over the last couple decades (somehow Sim Earth and Def Jam Rapstar aren't EA games???)

In other words, none of this is my fault! I do plan to get System Shock 2 at some point though so I guess I'm soon to be part of the problem.

(for real though, this all sounds pretty terrible)

EA has ruined every single of their franchises they've laid their hands on during the past few years (some more than others), what makes you think Mirror's Edge would be any different?

The first open world game where you will be able to buy new buildings on which you can race via microtransactions.

It's a guaranteed success! Never mind that you can't reach the last level because there is an empty lot instead of the skyscraper that would have let you access the final stage. But you will be able to enjoy your third copy of DA2 thanks to the EA refund.

Nah, if that ever does come to light (which I doubt) they'll ruin it.

also Mirror's Edge is hugely overrated here =/ *runs away*

+1

Typically empty promises of interactivity and exploration reduced to a virtually on-rails cinematic experience. A sequel would be money wasted, in my opinion.
