"We believe that premium titles command premium pricing," said EA spokesperson Tammy Schachter when asked why EA's first-run 360 titles were selling for $10 more than the company's first-run titles for Xbox, PS2 and GameCube. "These are deep, rich, complex games."
hmmm. seems funny to me that, in all cases that i know of, the EA launch games are actually a step DOWN from their xbox/ps2/gc counterparts, not "deep, rich, complex games". 30 fps, cut features, glitches, and poor online performance (in the case of madden). not only that, but one thing that irritates the shit out of me is the instruction manuals for EA games. i used to jokingly feign anger at the 3-5 page EA instruction booklets, but it has gone beyond being a shoddy, black and white instruction book. there is incorrect information printed, there is information that isn't printed at all (that should be), and there is a general laziness to the entire package.
i am required to give EA the benefit of the doubt in regards to their launch games. i have to believe that games like Madden 2007 and live 2007 will be the real deal, but right now i'm pretty disappointed at the reaction to the EA launch games.
