"Net revenue for the first quarter was $432 million, up 22 percent as compared with $353 million for the fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2003. Sales were driven by Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban(TM), EA SPORTS(TM) Fight Night 2004 and UEFA Euro 2004, each reaching platinum status (over one million units sold) in the quarter. Need for Speed(TM) Underground and MVP Baseball(TM) 2004 had continued strong sales. Life-to-date sales of Need for Speed Underground have now exceeded 7 million units."

Last year they had almost thirty million-selling titles. They stated a few months back their goal was something like forty-five in a year. By 2007 or 2008 they be'll producing a million seller a week.

This is an excellent news for Crytek. It should ensure hefty sales for their upcoming franchise.

IAWTP, Will Wright explained it perfectly. He said initially he thought he was selling out or EA was going to totally change their way of business. But he said once he got in there, going to EA was the best thing ever. So many resources at EA that he didn't have. Plus all the administrative duties were taken over by EA which allowed them to make games. I wonder if THQ or Activision were in the running to get Crytek?

Every time EA signs someone, you get the same few people who moan about being too big, and how they killed their favorite dev houses.

Nothing to see here, folks, 'cause they woulda died anyway.

Yeah, Origin, developers of one of the biggest RPG series of all time would've died anyway. Westwood, devs of one of the biggest RTS series of all time would've died anyway (I believe that one, slightly).

Yup. If a dev doesn't put out something every year, they are hosed if they work for EA

Hence why there are like 7 Sims packs/games before the actual sequel
