The studios within the stable are some of the best known in the market and include:
* Reflections, based in Newcastle, currently working on Driver 4.

* Melbourne House, based in Australia, working on current gen versions of Test Drive.

* Paradigm, based in Dallas, currently working on Stuntman 2 and Battlezone.

* Shiny Studios, based in Laguna Beach, currently working on one undisclosed project and new versions of Earthworm Jim.

* Eden Studios, based in Lyon, working on Test Drive for next generation systems.

It would be neat if they could recapture the quality of the earlier games again. But, I don't know if I should have faith in Shiny anymore :P

Wik, lol.

Earthworm Jim 2D on XBLA. That would be sweet. The first one for Genesis stayed in the slot for like six months. I think I only took it out for Shining Force.

WTF? Stuntman is Reflections franchise.

It's Atari's property.

You know, despite the sequels it got, The Great reviews it got all across the board and despite the merchandising and the (awesome) cartoon it got, Earthworm Jim is STILL one of the most underrated gems of the 16-bit Era.

Truly a magnificent game, and one of my all-time favorites. Probably my favorite western-made game of all time.

Indeed, I don't care what systyem this new one comes out for, i'm LONG overdue for an EWJ fix.

now that would be awesome. if its an all new 3d game for next-gen, i have little faith in it. please be old school on arcade

I hope I get to play some EWJ soon... I loved the SNES version of the game and the cartoon series was so cool.

OT: Does anyone know how long the aniamted series lasted? and if it's out on DVD or something I'd like to watch it again.

How was Earthworm Jim 64?

Terrible. Really friggin' terrible. Godawful.

Did Atari or Shiny buy back EWJ? Majesco did some GBA Jims and before that, Take-Two had it (EWJ64).

EJDS please.
YES! gimme gimme!

a new GBA adventure would be nice also.
Or... a PSP adventure without loadingscreens (impossible :( )

Edit:
Just looked at their site and they are looking for xbox360 and PSP programmers... so no Nintendo version me thinks.

Edit2:
Converting existing code base to run on PSP. Specific requirements include rendering, disk management, memory management.
They are working on a port of a game for the PSP.
MDK? MDK2? xbox360 Earthworm jim port?

I loved EWJ1 & 2 on the mega drive, but seriously, developers need to realise that not all classic 2D games translate into awesome 3D games. Look at Sonic.

If it's a throwback sonic rush style 2D game... awesome! If it's 3D.... fuck you Dave Perry!

stop your incessant "better on DS" nonsense everywhere! No! Stop it! Bad ninthing!

A sequel should always build upon what was good about the originals. For EWJ it was the great artwork and humour behind it, and old school platforming shoot-em up hijinx. Neutering the game to a tiny resolution with touch screen gimmickry would be THE WORST decision to take. Still kinda pissed that the Gunstar 'sequel' was on GBA, when it couldve rocked the house with hi-res (still dont buy into the 'awww but hi-res 2d costs too much to make nonsense devs give, since cartoons still appear to be a visual medium business thats not going anywhere, and theyre 2d :/).

I'd like Tennapel to be on board, but it seems unlikely what with the amount of friction caused by the initial development. (also, if you want some pure Tennapel goodness, watch his amateur action hero series SockBaby. its...epic)

I think that this new Earthworm jim is for PSP. One month ago, Shiny said they were looking for new staff in order to make a game for the psp, based in an old franchise.

(sorry for my english.....I'm spanish)

It was pretty well received back when in the day. It definitely took a lot of inspiration from Mario 64/B-K school of design though. Definitely not a bad game, and worth checking out if you're a fan.

Heh, something tells me Melbourne House's Test Drive efforts will be better than Eden's next gen project...unless they're just doing a port down, which would be a waste of their abilities.

It's amazing that they'd even pick Eden over MH to do a next gen Test Drive. Isn't TDLemans the best received TD in a long time? Not only that but they did some amazing things with the DC.

Grand Prix Challenge on PS2 was also another phenominal effort from Melbourne House...22 cars on track and a silky smooth 60fps. Vast improvement over the DC and PS2 versions of Le Mans.

Le Mans wasn't a true Test Drive game per say...TD was being used as a brand on a bunch of different games in the late 90's (IE the DC version of V-Rally 2 was published under the Test Drive name, while the first game came out on PSX under the Need for Speed brand through EA). The PS2 version (and revised PC version upon which it was based) of Le Mans dropped the TD tag. But yeah, Melbourne House is easily their best race developer.

They were even making American Le Mans for XBox a few years ago, before that got shelved. Hopefully that resurfaces on 360 and/or PS3.
