Looking good.

Looks good, but I hope it's not just all air moves and throwing big objects (I already have powerstone and its sequel for that, thanks)

are there more than 3 villians + heroes? Because that's all they showed. The lighting setup they used is really nice in action. Not too sure about the EA designed villians though. I was looking at the screens and thinking, I must have fallen off the Marvel design track cause I'd never seen them before.

The trailer makes it look like a Powerstone type game. Belgurdo mentioned this too.

Did they show Parker in action? Because I know he's a character in it.

The trailer showed the silhouettes of about 20 or so characters near the beginning.

I noticed that but they only showed Ironman, Spidery and Wolverine. And the 3 vilians. I mean, not even quick sneaks of who else was in play. I wanted to see some female heroes/villians.

From the article:

The sequel to a six-issue comic book tie-in that shipped starting yesterday, Marvel Nemesis is a direct story-based follow-up to the events of Greg Pak's and Renato Artem's funny book of the same name. To be more specific, Rise of the Imperfects centers on an evil scientist that's been secretly using Earth's population as test subjects for his biological weapon research. But much to the butcher's surprise, his millennia-old practice takes a turn for the worst when he mistakenly grabs the Thing, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Elektra for his next batch of experiments. From that point on, the ass-whipping begins and the aftermath of the conflict is where players will be able to take control of the game.

So the Thing and Elektra are confirmed, and I believe there will most likely be more.

edit:

For obvious spoiler reasons, EA wouldn't reveal to me the setup for the videogame portion of the story so as not to give away the ending to the comic. In fact, representatives wouldn't even confirm if the initial hero lineup of Elektra and Ben Grimm would even be in Rise of the Imperfects at all -- leaving me, as a diehard comic fan, left wondering what's really going to happen in the mini-series even more.

Nevermind :( But I still think there will be more than 3 heros and 3 villans.

edit2:

I do have to admit, though, that I am aggressively curious as who the remaining 12 characters (there are 18 in all) may be and what the ratio is between Marvel and EA-created protagonists.

There ya go! :D

Finally mustered the interest to want to downloaded the trailer. Holy crap, that looks great, it's Marvel's best beating this shit out of each other with Def Jam style intensity in a big open playing field. Very impressed.

I'd buy it... if the game didn't look so YELLOW, the lighting in this isn't that great but other then that the fighting looks pretty good so does the character design. Here's hoping that the cast is just as big a MvsC and plays in a similar fashion not like the X-men: Next demension game.

It's just a glossy coat, they can't do sick lighting yet on PS2...it's better than a flat look with no lighting.

This looks terrible. Why can't they just make Marvel vs Capcom 2 online. That is what people really want. This just looks like the Spiderman 2 Engine used for 1v1 battles. Yawn.

Ah Viper, you're not cool.

This game looks awesomely cool, it's weird seeing Spiderman in a non-activision game. How'd that happen?

Anywho, the graphics look great too. Who needs next gen consoles?

Hmm... NFS most wanted and now this game have that odd yellow filter. Quick, someone post a Madden screen with the yellow all the way up so we can get a feel for Madden 06!

Woah, this could be a great game. I'll keep an eye out for it.

One thing I didn't like is something the exec. producer said in the interview.

In that link given in the original post, you can also stream the interview.

He basically said the characters aren't balanced. In that, Iron Man on the whole is stronger than Wolverine and more tactically "capable."

While I like that sense of realism towards the actual characters, it kind of throws off the balance. There is a reason why some of the better fighting games (such as Virtua Fighter and Street Fighter) put an emphasis on balance. So that nobody can abuse with one character, and all the characters have merits to be learned etc.

But with this, I'd imagine people whorring out and choosing the upper level characters.

Not good IMO
