I got Metal Slug X (PS1) recently just for fun (my first Metal Slug game). I got to level 3 or 4 before I realized that I had unlimited continues, so I just finished it without caring whether or not I died. Oh well. Fun and easy couple of hours, though.

I'm wondering if Metal Slug 4/5 (PS2) is worth it, maybe if I limit my continues this time.

Mickey Mouse: World of Illusion on genesis. I remember when my brother and I rented it, the game didn't come with instructions. We were 9 and 7 at the time so the clerk said we could return it and get a different game if we didnt understand the controls. We got home, beat it in a few hours and then went back to get another game.

Ray Tracers for PSX (action-racing game). I guess that would be the perfect combination of easiest and shortest. I remember being able to beat it in like a half hour.

Awesome eye candy for its time though.

The numbers of continues you use is recorded along with your score. The real challenge is bringing that number down to 0 instead of reaching the end with 40 credits.

I would agree with this after the game "clicked" for me, but for the first few missions that game owned me. For some reason I just couldn't get it down...the devil boss at the end of Mission Four kicked my ass like 17 times. Then, sporadically, I loaded my file yet again, fought my way up to him, beat him easily, and never died again.

In that crappy DBZ fighting game for GBA, you can beat every character in the game by jumping into "Sky Battle II" mode and playing a little DDR minigame.
