Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition - Official Update Overview Trailer

I beat it a while ago. It was great. I'm going to have to do another playthrough. Nice to see the improvements in movement and being able to continue combos after a dodge is awesome! The cosmetics look cool too.

I'm gonna buy it I think. I have been watching it for a bi and it looks like effort was put into it so I am glad to support it. THESE are the type of indie games I want to support, not shit pixel art and "love letters".

BTW, I like old school pixel games....but unless it certain fighting games or RPGS there really isn't an excuse these days.

Well, I'll give it a chance, the regional price is right. They clearly care about the game and it must be rewarded.

Here's 7 min dev overview of the changes they made:

Been thinking about buying this game for some reason. Kind of reminds me of Banishers: New Eden aesthetically. I really like hack and slash games as well. Got quite the backlog, but maybe.

Do I even need to mention how demanding it is even with all the performance tweaks they did since release? There's a catch though, not everything is great in terms of presentation, for example DOF has for some inexplicable reason ginormous aliasing I couldn't figure out how to fix and unless you mod Engine.ini, Lumen looks like horrid utter shit with reflections in the water having a shit ton of noise and halo around objects and the MC, some VFX aren't impressive as well like when your companion firing up the vines to clear the way. So I said fuck it, modded in Silent Hill f insane Engine.ini I made and the game looks so much better as you can see on the screens above. But it looks like the DOF can't be fixed, there's no Hardware Lumen reflections and there's some noticeable trails from leaves and stuff when you look at the water reflections. But that's not all, for some stupid reason, Lumen in this game works like an eye adaptation effect in places and some areas are almost pitch black, but that's how they should be with barely any light so it's not an issue. Like, it's an AA game, so I can totally accept all these issues, animation imperfections etc.

What's also impressive is the combat, well at least to me and for what kind of game it is considering the budget. I remember watching reviews back when it came out and it looked like WIP barely finished product, but now after so many updates and this new version they released, it's basically Witcher 2 but with a lot less dance like combat with overdone and time wasting animations, every strike you do is deliberate, be it your sword or magic attack and when you unlock magic slam, heavy attack and other shit... I fuckin't love combat in this game, even if it's not as impressive as in Hellblade II. They made a ton of great changes and it looks, feels and works much better than on release. Anyway, give this game a go, ma dudes, but be ready for playing at 30 FPS at 4K DLSS quality with maxed settings, unless you have 5090. I've zero regrets after bying the game, can't wait to play more tomorrow.
