Edge Revolution teasing

haven't seen this pic in here before (if old, just lock the thread)

So it's pretty obvious that the left pic is about the Revolution, but what about that tiny cicrle on the top of the right page ?

any guess ?

It looks to me that Edge is trying to say that they 'take a microscope' to the Revolution. The blood cell image might be pertaining to 'learning what's inside' the Revolution.

Just a guess. ^_^

yeah, i think it's saying revolution is going under the edge microscope. which could mean just speculation and industry comments.

It's just the back of the back cover echoing the back of the front cover showing (in this case) a group of cells arranged to compose the "E" logo (E for EDGE). The back of the front cover has those cells unarranged in any discernable shape. Every EDGE issue has that king of "injoke". Like a group of pencils scattered around on the first page and then arranged to form an E on the last one.

Man did I explain myself BADLY. :/
Every EDGE reader should know what I'm talking about tho.

looks like they're making a play on "revolution" to "evolution"

and the blue light initially made me think of a light saber, but then it clicked that it's the rev's loading slot.

Yup. Ignore the image on the right guys, it's not related to the next month teaser. They do that sort of thing every month, weird image on the front, related image on the back with the E.

What TTP said. As for the Revolution we'll definately learn new things about it from the next Edge. It's not like Edge does pointless speculation articles like IGN. When they say (or imply) that they'll show something, they show it.

oh.

has edge has total exclusives before? if so, they might reveal something new.

QFT

I seem to recall Edge-online mentioning something about trying out some real games on the day the revcon was unveiled, and how it was going to be the main feature on the next issue (out october 20something)... ne1 remeber seeing this?

GBA SP was kinda revealed in Edge first, although the final product was a bit different from what they wrote.

Just as I was saying...

These all proved that the device has demanded software creativity from even Nintendo. Other titles have already been demonstrated to a few select members of the press, including Edge, behind closed doors - and we will reveal our verdict on the Nintendo-developed ideas in an upcoming issue

And one more thing, Edge is clearly excited about the rev, so they must have really liked what they saw, I wouldn't be surprised if Future Publishing grabed the exclusive right away.

do anyone know if this would be something edge paid for, or would nintendo respond to a request, and choose edge to reveal an exclusive?

That picture is misleading, as has already been said the back page (with the cell like picture) is a monthly thing they do related to a similar image they have on the front page, and has nothing to do with the second to last page (the next month teaser).

That picture should just be read as the left hand side, with the black background and blue disc slot.

I don't think they're suggesting anything other then they'll be some Revolution information in the next issue; and of course there will, they revealed the controller at TGS, that'll be in the next issue. Hopefully a little extra as well, as mentioned just above, I feel starved of revolution information already!

When do subscribers get Edge?

I must know! October 27 is too far. :(

Wait now that I think about it this is the issue they report nintendo's controller right? people who only follow the magazine wouldn't know about it... well maybe they do but still I don't feel like Edge has any new info. Could be just a tidbit or two.

Well, it's not like they have covered the Revolution controller yet. That teaser comes from a pre-TGS issue, so they may very well just have an interview with miyamoto and maybe some screens from the tech demos, but nothing more than what Nintendo has already made public.

edit: + what Chrono said

I think I've said this elsewhere:

This was on their sight when they reported on TGS Link

so here's hoping it'll be more than just a repetition of TGS news, but might not have to wait for Edge, since all the NDAs will probably be lifted at the end the month. Still, October 27th can't come soon enough.

I'd be happy if it's just the regular stuff with a few new interviews and some testimonials from various third parties about the controller.

Aren't we supposed to be finding out some more Revolution info in October anyway? Or was that just general Nintendo news? I can't remember what was said.

Oh. No, not an unveiling, but there was a press release I believe. Well, that's probably that then, though I guess they've still got to reveal where the free hotspots will be.

Yeah, maybe if Nintendo + BT have hooked up there'd be stuff like that.

Nintendo might be more forthcoming on more revolution details with regards to online connectivity. I definately wanna hear about these behind-doors demonstrations. It'd be great if we could see something new.

EDGE don't have anything new. It's just gonna be covering the demos they played behind closed doors. So erm… quit with the fantasies and the October 27-tons
