Sly 3, Ratchet Deadlock, Jak X racing

Sly 3

As in the last game both Bentley and Murray will accompany our main man on complicated heists in locales such as Venice, Australia, and China. But these three ain’t the only payable characters. You’ll now step into shoes of Sly’s adversaries which include Carmelita Fox, the lounge lizard Dimitri, and a host of other miscreants. This one should also last a little longer than the previous two editions. Online Co-op hinted by Sony.

Release Fall 2005

Jax X

Full racing game - Reunites most of the trilogy’s good guys in a desperate race to save everyone from death by poisoning. Only by defeating the diabolical Krew in a massive competition can they snag the cure.

Don't expect the game to unfold like a traditional racer, though: missions (standard race, time trial, time box and death match race) flow freely in a nonlinear, Grand Theft Auto-ish fashion. Racing itself echoes the violent clashes of Twisted Metal more that the kid-gloves action of Mario Kart. Weapons like mines, missiles etc...

Rumor has it full online play.

Release: Fall 2005

In the new EGM, issue May 2005, there is a feature on upcoming Sony sequels for Holiday of this year. They are Jak X, which is a spin-off car combat game/racing game, Rachet: Deadlocked, which sees Ratchet take on a more mature look, complete with battle armor, sort of like Master Chief, and finally, Sly Cooper 3, which picks up where the last game left, and it even includes a multi-player mode, possibly even online. Finally, there is a rumor Sony will launch Killzone 2 this holiday as well, with a more robust online mode and certain issues have been addressed.

All three games might have full online play.

you know, PS2 has a shitload of good games planned for a late 2005 release while Gamecube and xbox does not. Since we know Xbox 2 is 2005, I wonder if Revolution is next to follow. Nintendo definitley need to get Rev out of the 2006 door as early as it can.

I suppose it could seem that way with third parties abandoning the GC, but Nintendo themselves have quite a lot of stuff coming. As much as normal it seems to me. And I think we should probably go on what Nintendo are doing rather than what third parties are, as they have different reasons other than a syetm coming early to drop GC support (or lessen it).

btw, which episode is your avatar from? Is it the megaman land something :D

yeah, the first ever one. I downloaded the first 2 seasons and they were very bad quality, this is the only one that was really decent. I deleted them in a fit of rage when I saw Link was right handed.

I am hoping for a US release of Fire Emblem in 2005 and all would be good.

I knew there would be a Jak racing game. I should dig up the thread where someone laughed at me saying that.

Yay for yearly installments. I guess in comparison Madden isn't that bad.

I kinda doubt this cause Socom 3's supposed to released

I can't believe they won't. They've started bringing the GBA games over, so I just can't think of any reason they wouldn't give us the GC version (unless the new GBA game bombs really badly, guess that could sway it).

Not trying to turn this topic away from the sequels, but as we got onto the discussion, Nintendo (possibly) have these games coming the rest of this year: Zelda, Fire Emblem, Kirby Adventure, Pokemon XD, Mario Baseball, Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball, Donkey Konga 2, Geist, Advance Wars: Under Fire, DDR with Mario, Odama. There's possibly some surprises too still to come, Mario 128 may end up on the GC...so Nintendo's support is as strong as ever, and there's no real signs of slowing down for an early Revolution release.

Sounds more like Killzone 1.5

"Rumor has it full online play. "

Now we're talking. They've basically done exactly like they did with Crash. 3 Crash platformers and then a racer.

MEGA LOL

"Rachet: Deadlocked, which sees Ratchet take on a more mature look"

Like this game was too kiddy or something? **annoyed**

Interesting news. Sly 3 sounds like it'll continue the platform game tradition of its predecessors, but the other two games are both taking bold new directions.

The combat driving missions in Jak 3 were great. A game based around that style of gameplay should be cool. Naughty Dog has already been successful with taking characters from their platform games and crossing over to another genre.

Although they said Ratchet in Ratchet: Deadlocked won't be seen outside of his robotic body armor, I'm hoping they'll change that, at least for cinematic sequences. Ratchet is such a great character. I like the fact that he's a cute, furry alien creature rather than a stereotypical super warrior; to have him in body armor the whole time might detract from his overall appeal. On a related note, I would like to see a Clank spinoff game for PSP that's derived from the portions of the R&C games where you command the tiny robots and use them to solve puzzles in a platforming environment.

Wait, Jak X takes place after the last game but they're fighting Krew? Huh? Or am I mixing up my characters?

Yeah, I noticed that too, especially since
Krew seemingly perished in a massive building explosion in Jak II
. Perhaps they'll find a way to
explain how he survived it
.

Like Jax X racing? Give me a break. I've rather blow my nose on a tissue shat in by Harry Knowles then play another mascot Cart Racer.

Did you read the description above? If that's correct, then this is probably more like Twisted Metal than a go-kart race.

This is ridiculous, when will Nintendo stop rehashi -- HEY WAIT A MINUTE

:lol Dear lord, that is the worst mental image forced upon me in a while.

Harry Knowles having sex with Michael Moore, Peter Jackson filming.

And man, I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice the Samus lookalike status of Ratchet.

mmmm sounds great, good to see them shake things up. Ratchet: Deadlocked with squad based gameplay and online co-op. Jak X with GTA non-linear style and Twisted Metal like car combat. Sly 3 sounds more like a continuation (compared to Ratchet & Jak), though online co-op could be very interesting w/ sly's levels :D
