They were named fromsoft, because you went from soft to hard with their games. But now they need to rename to "staysoft" :messenger_sad_relieved:

Nightreign is a throwaway trend chase. Duskbloods is Bloodborne 2 directed by Miyazaki.

If you don't agree that is fine.

...but know this. Miyazaki only has a limited time on this earth. Like Quentin Tarantino, he will only direct so many games in his entire life. He spent years on this one.

If nothing else, Duskbloods will take from you the opportunity costs of another game you could have had from Miyazaki. He is the director and this game will directly reflect on his legacy as well.

That is why I clearly know something that apparently you do not. Miyazaki does not make a bad game, Miyazaki moves forward. Whatever you think of Duskbloods now, that will change when the game releases. It's a lot more than you obviously think it is. Miyazaki does not make a bad game, so what I know is that Dusk Bloods is going to be way better than you are giving it credit for. Comparing it to nightreign may make sense now but in a few years you would get laughed at for that. You'll see it happen. When Miyazaki's next game releases, it's gonna shock the world.

FROM seems to have raised their standards so much people are not happy with another generic new character in their 2nd "as big as many AA game" DLCs.

I think we gotta wait for the full game to see everything. Network Test seemed limited in scope. But so far if I were to get it, it would be at a sale only. But outlook not so good with this multiplayer focus...in a single player franchise with light PvP components.
 
Are people just now realizing that Fromsoft reuses assets? They've been doing it since Dark Souls borrowed a bunch of shit from Demons Souls and have continued in each game thereafter. And guess what, there's nothing wrong with that. Its how they've managed to stay profitable, have regular releases, keep and train their staff, and expand into three separate teams. What's the problem here? Would you all rather they follow Western studio trends of releasing one game every 6 years, shit canning their employees whether it's successful or not after release, and/or shut their doors when they don't meet nonsensical profit expectations? The Western studio model is going to collapse. The Eastern studios are going to thrive by managing costs and expanding their institutional knowledge.

As to the trailer and Night Reign in general, if this was a full price game, I would be disappointed. But as a budget title, I'm going to have a lot of fun with it for 40 to 50 hours, like most Rogue-likes/lites.

I still don't understand why From is diluting their brand with these multiplayer games that honestly look a bit janky and shitty.

Well, I guess the answer, as usual, is money, but still. I'm losing some respect for them.
