Electroplankton - Where Is It?

I can't believe they're going the full $35 :lol

And I don't hate this "non game" like some. It's interesting. But that's a rip.

I read somewhere that they're really only selling it from their website and smaller outlets. I think the web might be your best bet

I think the elektroplankton concept is great but it seems to be too simplistic. I need more complex instruments/plankton to play with.

I am contemplating buying a DS just for this game.

Amen!

Great non-game, just can't believe they are going to charge $35 for it. Although I paid $40 when it first came out, so who am I to talk?

Wait a few weeks to pick it up, this one might be headed to the used storeshelves at EB/Gamestop.

I just picked it up from their online store. I tried w/Amazon, but it said that the estimated delivery date was March 14th.

Canadians: I need your help!

It's the morning of the Electroplankton release date, and I fear a botched plan for Canadians!

None of the online retailers are shipping to Canada since EB Games got the rights to distrubte them in stores in this country. Predictably, they sucked at telling their employees anything! A quick call today reveals they know nothing and it's not in their system. Disgusting.

So now I need to find an online retailer that is selling to Canadians or get the scoop on EB Games..... when they're getting it in.... If they're getting it in.

I fear that by the time this gets worked out, the game will be sold out and rare :(

If i can't end up buying this game because of stupid logisitcs problems I will be pissed. I've been more excited about this game than anyone.

Nintendo's online store ships to Canada.

EDIT: I just checked and they're charging $44.99 CAD + tax + $5 CAD shipping (Ground) for it. What a ripoff.

I just found it, thanks Fuzzy.

50 bucks a ripoff? Yeah. But no more than ususal.

With such a limited run, don't you think this game will go up in price? Maybe I should buy two copies.

It's one of those $35 games? Oh, god fuck you Nintendo. That extra $5 is like a punch in the nuts.
I agree. This really should have been a budget title. $20 or less, I probably would have bit, but no way I am buying this limited musical experiment for full mark-up.

I'm so glad this game is out, so that all the people who have been defending it without even playing it, get to play it. And get humbled.

For those of you who haven't tried Electroplankton yet, please get into it with the phrase "Art Installation" in your head instead of "videogame." There is nothing goal-oriented, nor is it a software instrument. It is a piece of multimedia art that allows the user to discover new sounds through assorted sets of limitations. If you want to make portable music, grab a drum machine for your PSP or buy a copy of Nanoloop, Little Sound DJ, or a Gameboy Camera if you want to make standard, rhythmic music.

I thought Electroplankton was exciting and interesting, but I'm also the type of person who can read dissertations on Brian Eno or Masami Akita's art installations.

$35? They have to be kidding!! They made a limited run because they were afraid it wouldn't sell and they didn't think to make it $20-25? There's no chance of a price drop being a 1st party game... Best Buy coupon would've made it tolerable, but even it's out of the question.

I am thinking about picking up this one for my 5 yr old daughter. Any of you guys that have played this think its a good game for kids? She is pretty good at the ds, we play mariokart ds multiplayer about every day.

Of course id like to mess around with the game also.....:)

EBgames web site doesnt have the game listed anywhere on it. I have the current Nintendo product catalog and it is listed as "Available only online". Without some kind of confirmation I wouldnt trust getting it from EBgames.
I bought it this morning on Ebay from the only guy that has the US version listed. Cost me 29.99 + $9.00 S/H. last night he had 16 now theres only got, checking... 1, holy shit thats quick!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8248771774&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1

It says shipping date is 01/10/06 :D

what's weird is that I ordered mine from EBgames.com last thursday, and it arrived today. now some office folks want in on it, but it's disappeared...

The only Canadian Elctroplankton source I trust is Nintendo themselves. I just ordered mine.

For the record, I ordered from GameStop and though it says it's on backorder, it shipped.

Online only. At least to start, I guess.

I think somewhere on this forum I read that Target was advertising it in flyers for their real stores. The only other place is the Nintendo World Store in NYC.

So, so true.
