Elektroplankton/Nintendogs Import - Language Barrier?

I was considering importing Elektroplankton, and maybe Nintendogs, and was wondering if anyone who's played the import could tell me the level of Japanese one has to understand in order to play them? I've got limited Japanese knowledge, I own an import GCN with Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion, Zelda, and Monkey Ball, so I was okay with those (Zelda was tough, as I guessed a lot from visual cues).

Thanks for any advice.

electroplankton needs next to no understanding of the japanese language... unless you want to read the manuals... the only one you may want to have translated is Nanocarp but im sure there are tutorials online by now. I own it and have not had to consult any tutorials... have fun.. experiment!

Electroplankton has no language barrier, I bought the Japanese version because I wasn't sure whether it would get a US release or not. It now looks like it will, so I suggest waiting for a release date. It should be much cheaper than the J price as well. It's a fun toy to have, but I wouldn't recommend paying full price for it.

Nintendogs requires quite a bit of Japanese knowledge. You might be able to muddle through on your own, but otherwise, expect to spend a lot of time with Titney's wonderful translation guide or combing through the DPC blog.
