Elveon (next-gen) screens and trailer

Here is from the press rls:

About ELVEON
"Elveon" means "The book of elves" and is based on a comprehensive fantasy saga which goes back to the times of the rise of the advanced Elvish civilization. The player – as an intrinsic part of the captivating story – can develop freely according to his disposition in the role of a charismatic hero of this epos and he can determine his development. He can only achieve his objective, the fulfilment of the prophecy – namely the liberation of the city of Nimathar - as the mightiest warrior of Naon because this task is normally made for a god.

Games Convention 2005, Leipzig, Germany 19 August 2005: "Elveon", the project of 10TACLE STUDIOS Slovakia which is for the first time being presented to the general public at Games Convention 2005, will be based on the well-known Unreal® Engine 3. The major characteristics of this fantasy action epic are its impressive graphics and the captivating atmosphere. The middleware solution by Epic Games proved to be the ideal platform because of its excellent performance, features and toolset. The game which will be released for PC and next generation consoles therefore relies on a very promising technology.

"Unreal Engine 3 has already proven to us that it is going produce fantastic results while saving us time and money on this project. It not only has fantastic graphics but also is on an advanced development stage which we need for a real next generation project such as Elveon. We are delighted to have found a really strong technology partner in Epic Games," Jürgen Reusswig, Managing Director 10TACLE STUDIOS Slovakia, explains.

"We are very pleased that Elveon will be powered by Unreal Engine 3. The team at 10tacle Studios has impressed from the start and we are excited to be working with them. 10tacle has a great vision for Elveon and we look forward to seeing that vision realized." Epic Vice President Mark Rein comments on the ambitious project.

10TACLE STUDIOS announced today it will demonstrate a playable version of their Unreal Engine 3-powered fantasy action epic for the first time at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2006 in Los Angeles. At the trade show, 10TACLE will not only grant a glimpse of their current portfolio but they will also for the first time allow trade visitors to experience the impressive game world of "Elveon".

"After our E3 debut last year we are looking forward to present with "Elveon" and "GTR 2" an impressive portfolio once more. With these two extraordinary titles we underline our high quality standard in development and also give a strategic outlook of the company. At the same time we will take advantage of the E3 to acquire promising new projects and studios", Michele Pes, CEO of 10TACLE STUDIOS, sums up the expectations of their participation in the trade show.

The fantasy action epic by 10TACLE STUDIOS Slovakia leads the gamer through the heroic history of the Elvish civilisation. This action epic is truly fascinating thanks to its graphics and its innovative combat system. The game is based on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 technology and will be released in summer 2007 for XBOX 360 and PC.

I'll reserve judgement until I actually see some in game screens and hands-on impressions. It looks like the devs are attempting to do something new even though they're using common fantasy themes.

I thought people would be more receptive to new devs trying to do new things with new games... maybe we are just destined for gaming sequels.

It´s interesting to see that a small team as 10tacle can get better effect from the uE3 engine than Namco can with FCK-game...

Not really, it has to do with talent and exprience with technology. If you are not used to the new technologies, you will suck at using them. If you have no talent as an artist at making art for those technologies and even if you do they are not used well, it will look like crap. That's what (seems so) happened to Namco.

Western developers have used these technologies for far longer now, arguably. :)

EDIT: My point is that it has nothing to do with large teams. :) Arguably making a good game has nothing to do with large teams but with passion, skill and talent.
