Era about to be trigggggered
Eminem has just surprise released a new album called Music to Be Murdered By. Listen below. The new album features a verse from the late Juice WRLD. Black Thought, Q-Tip, Ed Sheeran, Young M.A, Anderson .Paak, and others also appear. Dr. Dre is credited on production throughout.

In addition to the new album, Em released a video for “Darkness.” It depicts a shooting at a concert, and then there’s audio and footage from the mass shooting in Las Vegas. As the video ends, there’s a plea encouraging people to register to vote. “Make your voice heard and help change gun laws in America,” the closing text reads, directing viewers to register at Vote.gov.

On “Unaccommodating,” he references his feud with Machine Gun Kelly before saying “bombs away” and referencing the 2017 Manchester concert bombing that killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande performance. It is not the first time he’s made the bombing reference in a song.

I was really appreciating how the issue was directed at "this is a messed up thing that continues to happen far too often," right up until he specifically unspecifically promoted changing gun laws as a solution to the issue.

Okay, how? Which guns should be allowed and which shouldn't? What laws need to change? Is the website clear about his plan to stop mass shootings?

This song didn't do much for me musically, but his last album was his best in years, so I'll be interested to hear more.

Just listened to You Gon Learn. It was dope, especially the hook. Cant say much about the rest though, need a couple of more hours of listening.

Eminems recent output has been pretty weak, especially Revival which was complete crap, but he saved some face with Kamikaze. That shit was pretty lit.

I listened to the whole album, liked some songs more than others. Couple hours later don't remember any, besides that darkness song so I will have to listen again a couple of times to make a final verdict. So far nothing special.

Been listening to a couple of tracks now and Em delivers some solid tracks. This one is the best of the bunch, the production is so fucking good.

Oh ffs, not everything needs to be about politics dude and this "lost all credibility" crap is a wokie tactic.
I don’t respect or like Eminem anymore since his diss track against Trump. I should have said lost his credibility to me. It has nothing to do with any kind of tactic.

Eminem is the one making it about politics when he raps about Trump and changing gun laws.

He’s just trying to get in with the Jimmy Kimmel crowd when those are the kind of people he always railed against when he was any good.

I knew what you meant, or at least I thought it was obvious. 20 years ago he was the exact opposite of PC, a free thinker, etc. Today he seems 100% committed to running with the cool crowd IMO, and maximizing sales by not offending the wrong people. I know my opinion is not fact, and its entirely possible he's just changed over the years, started saying what he really thinks, etc.

But in my eyes, the guy who released Kim, and the guy who laughed about people arguing over who a woman gave head to first, was not someone who would take such great offense to the crap Trump says or does. And in my eyes, the guy who recognizes "these God damn food stamps don't buy diapers" would be cheering on a President committed to increasing employment / wages for disenfranchised people. So yeah, I'm pretty sure I got what you meant. And no, you did not call for people to cancel him by saying your opinion. There is giving an opinion, and then there is adding hashtags to it, promoting it, and outright calling for people to cancel someone in differing ways. Those are different things.

I dunno, I’m looking at Em as pretty much a peer although I’m a little older, and I’m just kind of stunned he’s still doing the angry trailer park bit. It was boring more than a decade ago. Would like to see him stretch himself musically and lyrically, but I can just get rapid fire, angry songs. I mean why isn’t he taking chances musically, like say The Beastie Boys, he’s got mad loot, this is the time to do something people don’t expect from you, it’s been time for while.

Darkness is really good, but I always don't liked Eminem for his voice. It's annoying and I am not that fast to understand, pretty much anything, since I am non-native English speaker. Too fast for me. I don't listen to rap/hip-hop, tho, so it might be just that. But basically with his rap style, Logic is way better, in my opinion. That ADHD track with Joyner Lucas (or him with Logic, not sure) is really really good. Like musically, catchy, I mean. I just wish style of first album of Fort Minor would appear again. It's so good I even bought a physical copy of that back in the day.

I am sorry to talk that much broadly about the genre, but that's all I've listened to.

Only watched Darkness video. Thought was pretty good. Fair look. Good job Em.

This is great too.
