It does. Re-watched it, love it. Ha! HATERz! So painful watching asuka get owned tho.

Damn, your're about 7 years late there :)

I hated the movie with a passion, but not as much as the entire series.

People don't like it because they're too dumb to understand it. (fact)

The order in which you should watch the ending of Evangelion in my opinion:

Episode 24, Episode 25, End of Evangelion, Episode 26.

Episode 24 is where Shinji finally breaks (at the end), having to kill the only one who showed him true kindness. (I love the line "How can you be so cruel, Misato" as the ending to that episode and the beginning of the end)
Episode 25 is where we examine both the beginning of instrumentalty for the characters and Shinji falling apart (the end of Episode 25 matchs up with the beginning of End of Evangelion very well).
End of Evangelion is where we're shown the physical world aspect of instrumentality, and the process Shinji has to endure from that side of things.
Episode 26 is where we examine how Shinji completes his instrumentality. His changing of his perspective (or more the fact he realizes he can change his perspective). Evolution of his self.

I find Shinji's screams and moaning are too disturbing during the whole series... I swear I started to feel nuts... I may never fully understand Evangelion

While I can "appreciate" the abstract nature in which the "end of evangelion" is told in episodes 25 and 26, I have decided the movie End of Evangelion does so in a manner that also pleases the dumb robot loving over the top anime side of me. What matters in the movie itself are clearly speeches given by misato, his final choice, asuka's redemption, his final moment with his mother. Key non-action moments clearly, but I feel the action and crazyness go a long way in appealing to the basic idea of what I feel anime is all about.

Dead

well not really...yet
Probably one of my favorite movies now.

This movie can FUCK YOU UP

End of Eva is the REAL conclusion to the series, I dont know why people still debate this....

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
I enjoyed it - it was action packed, had far better animation than the series itself, and had the usual injection of Annko's probably mostly meaningless convoluted symbolism. It's definitely something of a downer, and doesn't give you any kind of clear-cut ending, although really, it'd be disappointing if it did. And is Shinji any less a man (well, less a whiney boy) for splooging at the sight of a unconscious Asuka? :D

the best part of the movie is where Asuka gets beaten up

the second best part is where she gets strangled

I'll never understand why people didn't enjoy those scenes

I enjoyed watching her before she got beat up, she had been getting her spirit kicked around for a while, good to see a comback, and the hardcore determination even after essentially having her guts ripped out. RAGE. Plus her success fueled Shinji to some degree.

I find the religious symbolism in the anime meaningless because I believe he had said during an interview that they essentially were. Simple tools to convey the real story which is as ive said so many times before a psychological thesis based loosely on his own childhood. Obviously he never fought in a giant robot but I think the overall theme was touched upon the very most in misato's lecture.

Death and Rebirth (with its amazingly well done recap) and End of Evangelion are a wonderful watch.

needs to show more effort.
story wise, end of eva is stupid. episode 25/26 were a much better ending.

the action of the end of eva though is quite tasty and worth watching repeatedly soley for tht fact. especially asuka's fight scenes.

Eva.. although I did enjoy the whole thing, but I just find it's too.. say, elaborated to convey its core message - "all the otakus, get a life and connect to others!"

Its cool owning them all tho huh. Collections of things rock.

:lol Actually I sold them to pay rent a month ago. But I did feel special having them on my shelf. Now I'm down to just the Cowboy Bebop set.
