Well, MP6 is actually on par with MP5 so far, and the latest FE put up better numbers than the last two in their first few weeks.

But don't make the mistake that Japan opt for better quality games than us. Hardly. Their Number Ones are frequently cash-ins, such as the obscure robot games that don't get particularly high review scores. And since when has Dragon Quest been a match for Final Fantasy? The Wind Waker also sold crippingly badly - it deserved a million at least.

Agreed, but Link to the Past is just a remake of an old SNES game. I'd have expected this all-new Zelda to have made a bit more of a splash. It will probably reach 350k in Japan (so maybe 450k actual number) and 1.5m in the US, so hardly a bomb. But not the sort of numbers it should have been doing really....

Most male Japanese adults have a history of Gundam loving, so it's hardly surprising. But the series has been dropping off a little recently, thankfully.

I guess if the right people come into this thread, you'll get your internet head kicked in :lol But it's a personal thing. I've always preferred FF to DQ, but even I'm hot and bothered about DQ8. It looks amazing

Whose fault is that? Is it something wrong with Japanese taste!?!?

Besides, Kingdom Hearts > Wind Waker, so it stands to reason that KH:COM > LOZ:TMC

They're nothing to be laughed at (given Japan's gaming climate over the last few years), but the portable Zelda license does seem to be on the slide in Japan...
