Are those cities explorable?
Yes, but its not a 1 to 1 scale of Europe's cities though.
Ok not so awesomeA "city" is like 5 roads and a few buildings, they're nothing more than small hubs in between the main highways.

Bought this yesterday. The first time I played it, I accidentally took the wrong route, I thought the sat nav would re route but it didn't, save for telling me to go backwards (maybe I didn't drive long enough to get to roads where there were options to re route). Cue me trying to reverse a truck back down the road avoiding traffic behind me - it... didn't go well, obviously. This also taught me that there's no restart option, you have to have a game saved and load it back up.
Second time was much better, but I took a sharp turn way too quickly only a few miles from my destination, and the truck tipped over. Used the repair service, drove to my destination and then it told me to try reverse parking.
I was nowhere near being able to park, mainly because I couldn't find a good camera angle - most of them were too close to the truck, so I couldn't see what was going on behind me to judge the angle for reversing - which camera is best?
In the end I just pressed the button to complete the job without the proper parking bonus.
Tonight I'm going to set up my controller properly (only mapped accelerate, brake, sat nav and engine start so far), and look into the radio stations.
A lot more fun than I was expecting so far!

I love this game. It's perfect game for just relaxing and unwinding after a hard day.
I've been debating buying a wheel just for this game.

I tipped my truck going into my quarry delivery (after a 30minute journey!) and had to call for the rescue service to come help a truckbro out. The GPS overlay did not update, but the one in the actual truck itself (fancy truck apparantely!) did...which was kind of interesting.
Those of you who use a 360 pad, how do you have it configured?
I haven't configured it properly yet, going to do that tonight, but so far:Those of you who use a 360 pad, how do you have it configured?
Great to see other people jumping in to this fantastic game. I also love winding down a day with ETS2. Throw on some random euro 80's channel and cruise the roads. Definitely install the speed limit mod, it makes paying attention to the speed traps much more intense. I can down shift and engine brake that fucker like a mad man after an nice 80mph burn.
This game is sensational with a wheel, clutch and H-shifter. Going up and down the gear box is half the fun. Also, if you like driving/racing games, you really should invest in a wheel, it is like playing FPS games with a keyboard only.
Fuck it! I bought it. I didn't buy this G27 for nothing and now I am ready for that Oculus Rift.
I don't like driving games THAT much though! I just like this particular one.
Any driving wheel suggestions?

.. And if I got pedals then I could use them with FSX too....
it has rift support!?
It's my understanding a Rift patch is coming.
Just picked this up last night. Fuck parking in reverse to the cargo bay.

Love the game, but it's disappointing that the engine sounds are so bad.
What's the deal with Euro Trick Simulator 2 and Euro Truck Simulator being on the same page in steam? I assume I should be buying 2?
The key is to not oversteer. Fuck two-segment loads, though.Just picked this up last night. Fuck parking in reverse to the cargo bay.
The DFGT ($99 new) is a great entry level wheel. The pedals are so so (some simple mods you can do to improve them) but the actual wheel and FFB are solid. You can always upgrade the pedals later if you will be using it on PC. You can pretty much mix and match anything when using wheels, shifters and pedals on PC. When I got into iRacing I was introduced to the wild assortment of custom cables and USB to whatever connectors that one person in a garage makes and sells on the web. But be sure to confirm cross compatibility of different wheels and accessories before jumping in.
If you can catch a sale I would say the G27 is an ideal get. I also like to make the argument that if you think you kind of only like driving/racing games, buying a wheel tends to transition you into loving them because it dramatically enhances and improves the experience. You may want to wait until the new consoles launch to see where the PC and console compatibility falls so you can get the most bang for your buck. No reason to buy a wheel that works on PC and Xbox when you own a PlayStation and PC.
My wheel history is Driving Force EX, Momo Force, G25 and now G27. Every one was worth it.
Some of the lower level wheels and pedal sets will have a uniform feel between the gas and brake pedal that will work for rudder pedals, but you will likely need a separate cable like the Bondar cable that allows you to connect your pedals directly via USB. Slightly higher models like the G27, Fanatech, etc will have the gas pedal feel radically different than the brake and clutch since they are trying to simulate real car pedal feel. It might be strange to have your left rudder pedal rock hard compared to your right rudder.

work on PC as well? Are there all sorts of hoops I have to jump through to get it to work on PC, or does it work out of the box?
I just bought this game yesterday and played for a bit, the game is very fun. Made my buy a steering wheel.
What is Dunder? For anyone interested in the game, Dunder is selling it for $4.
Excellent game, great to just drive around and listen to the radio, enjoy the view.
Only 'problem' is you need to get a wheel, it's the ultimate experience. Just not the same with a keyboard or controller.
