Mike said:I got about halfway through the first one, and about an hour into the second, but couldn't stand the long-ass codec cutscenes. Does this one have a narrative I'll be into even if I don't know all the events in the first and second installments?
Tabris said:It has the longest cutscenes of all three of the games.
It has the shortest codec sequences though.
Socreges said:Dumb, dumb, dumb. If you're trying to sell the game on anyone that doesn't already own it, the last thing you talk about is the cinematics.
Gameplay = ROCK
Everything else is a distant second.
I think CG is usually considered to be video besides that of the gameplay engine, but I'm never sure.montanha said:I can appreciate that. But have you watched the Boss's expressions closely, and her eyes? Did you not feel the tension whenOcelot juggles his revolvers roulette style at Sokolov?
CG aint a distant 2nd. I SKIPPED THROUGH the CG and codec shit in the other 2 MGS's. I hate that crap usually. But this game's CG had me sold from the opening sequence.
The last thing I look foward to in a game.cuccoo said:I dont care whether you like the gameplay or not but everyone should watch the cinematics.
Wario64 said:And like someone mentioned before, be sure to reserve the last 3 hours so you can consume the climax of the game in 1 sitting. Very intense stuff. The game's ending is very satisfying as well, and I'd go as far as to call it one of the best endings ever in a video game. It's refreshing too in this age of stupid cliffhanger endings

Gek54 said:I F'n hate trying to sneak passed guards. Tt is next to impossible get around unseen without the old radar. The motion and person sensor range is useless. Take a fiew steps, go into first pers view look around, take a few more steps, repeat endless until you are spotted then guards flood and you must start all over*Smashes controler* The boss fights have been great so far though.

Does anyone think it's kind of ironic that Kojima makes these great games that are essentially cautionary tales about war, but the main draw is avoiding enemies, stalking enemies, killing enemies... I mean, I realize you can play the game PEACEFULLY, without killing others (except maybe some bosses), but does he think that people care about them because of their anti-violence/anti-crazy-genetic-experiments message, or does he realize that most people just like deviously and violently hunting enemies?
kumanoki said:Isn't this the same reason Zack de la Rocha quit Rage? Medium > message?
It just seems like it promotes violence more than it expresses a healthy message.
